Who do you most want to lose?

I have nothing too original to contribute here. Lots of loathsome Pubbies out there, but if I had to pick one, it’s Ted Cruz.

There are a few I would love to see lose here locally in Ohio:

Mike Dewine is a toady troll, and generally despicable shitbag of a person. I don’t love Cordray, but Dewine is vile.

Would love to see longtime combover king Steve Chabot lose. The guy has been a useless piece of Congress for as long as I can remember, and is basically a do nothing.

Finally, the biggest longshot… Vanessa Enoch beating out Warren Davidson. Not that I have much against Davidson personally, but this is Boehner’s old house seat, has been bloody red forever and a day, and it would just be a huge unexpected upset.

I am pretty sure you meant Grandpa Munster.

Apologies to the OP but I can’t do just 1. My choices, in order of preference:

  1. Cruz; if anyone ever needed a punch in the face…
  2. Kobach
  3. DeSantis
  4. King
  5. Kemp
  6. Walker
  7. Scott

Of course, Ted Cruz goes without saying. Also Scott Walker.

But for a candidate in my state, I gotta go with Peter Roskam. We used to be in his district before the last redistricting. Has voted with Trump about as often as possible. Refuses to hold town halls, and has stated that the one he held had people coming in angry and leaving angrier. (Altho I think I heard he held one fairly recently – but deliberately had it outside his district.)

Anyway, go Sean Casten!

On the my own state level, Bill Schutte, (R-Dow Chemical) candidate for Governor.

It looks like the tide has turned against King at last. I’m not sure if this is too little, too late but, not only has he lost the endorsement of the Sioux City Journal (for the first time in his career) and has had Land O’Lakes and Purina publicly state they will no longer donate to his campaign, now he has been denounced by the chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, Rep. Steve Stivers, R-Ohio.

No telling how this will play out in the end but it would be a delight to see this low-life racist piece of crap shown the door.

I’ve been mulling over this question for several days now. My gut reaction was to say Menendez in NJ, because he’s corrupt. Feinstein was an early contender too, for her shennanigans during the Kavanaugh hearing. McCaskill, Donnelly, and Tester would be sweet because I’d love to see them really feel the pain of their Kavanaugh “no” votes (and I’m guessing Heitkamp already is going to). But, I’ve finally settled on my answer: Ben McAdams, the Dem challenger in Utah’s 4th Congressional District (my district). If he wins he’ll be a stain (admittedly, probably a blue-colored and dog-shaped one) on Utah’s congressional delegation, a fly in the ointment, a black mark, a consistent disappointment.

I checked out his platform on his website, and you’re right… he wants the government to work together to find bipartisan solutions rather than just bickering all the time, he wants a balanced budget and tax reform, and he wants to fix the Affordable Care Act rather than just scrapping it without a replacement. We can only pray that a madman like that never gets anywhere near the levers of power in your state or anywhere else.

Martha McSally, R-AZ. She represents my district in Congress. She’s running for the US Senate. She’s a huge Trump supporter. I favor her opponent, Kyrsten Sinema, a Democrat. She wants to work across party lines.

Oh god, just one?

Do I pick the representative who assaulted a reporter and continues to lie about it (Gianforte)? One of the two reprehensible candidates for governor (Kobach and Kemp) using their official positions to cheat? The smuggest asshole on the planet (Cruz)? The one that would make the biggest political impact (Cramer)? The most ideologically toxic (King)?

I think I’d choose Kemp.

The lady that called Arizona “the meth lab of democracy” wants to work across party lines?

Ted Cruz, no question. And it’s down to a 3% race at this point, so there’s a chance that he’ll have his ass handed to him. Couldn’t happen to a nastier person.

Where are you seeing 3%? I see it as 7%

Ted Cruz gets no love

Well yeah, that’s what makes the whole thing fun!

I mentioned Marsha Blackburn upthread. She has a new ad that is absolutely sickening and illustrates why I am praying for her loss. She berates her opponent for calling the caravan “no threat” and states that the caravan is made up of “Gang members, known criminals, people from the Middle East - possibly even terrorists!” The race baiting is less than subtle. She is such a horrible person.

I want to change my pick of Cathy McMorris Rodgers to my local state rep, Matt Shea, thanks to becoming aware of his manifesto outlining the “Biblical Basis for War” which are 14 steps for seizing power and instituting Christian law.

God willing (heh), he will not be re-elected.

Do you know anything about the context? For example, was this passed out during a Sunday School lesson at church, or at a campaign rally, or somewhere else?

Yeah, I mean, calling for the slaughter of all dissident men would be fine if this was just a church document.

You’re not the least bit curious about the context? About whether this is getting played up by the media or is an actual call for exterminating atheists?

It’s a tough call. So many are worthy of taking the #1 slot on the list. A good case can be made for most of the ones already named.

I will choose Devin Nunes, however, because I think that corrupt, sleazeball creep did more to damage democracy in this country than anyone else over the past 2 years. Except his leash master, that is.

I want to see him go down hard.
