Who do you want to win the Democratic nomination for President?

What he said. I’m excited for the future Bernie posits but I’d be satisfied with a Clinton presidency.

Left leaning, full in for Hillary. I think she’s actually going to be able to navigate the morass of Washington - Obama took a full term plus to govern the way that Hillary Clinton would have on the first day (ie, not trying to bend over backwards to get GOP votes that just aren’t coming, but just force through things anyway you can).

I have seen this argument so many times, including from Bernie himself: “The GOP will mount various attacks, regardless of whom we nominate.” Uh, yeah…but voters do actually have brains, believe it or not. Attacks that are either factually untrue or come across as much ado about nothing do not have the same purchase as those that are largely true and shocking to “Middle America”. Yes, I know Bernheads hear “socialist atheist who honeymooned in the USSR” and either shrug it off or think it actually sounds pretty cool. But that is not how the vast majority of people over 35 in this country think! And they are the ones who vote en masse. (Maybe in another 30 years someone like Bernie can be uncontroversial.)

I believe that the preferred term is “BernOut.”

Didn’t vote - poll too limited.

I am an independent. Barring indictment or dropping out, Clinton will win the Democratic nomination. Bernie Sanders is a good man, but he cannot achieve his goals with Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan in Congress. It’s too far-left.

I’m okay with both candidates (plus O’Malley), but right now I’m slightly leaning Hillary. I like Bernie better on the issues, but I think he’s a lot weaker general election candidate, and they’re close enough on the issues that electability trumps it right now.

Clinton is a liar and stands for nothing but power, and she would be as hated by a Republican legislator as anyone alive. Sanders seems like a man who actually would try to help his country.

Looks like O’Malley is now out of the race - and too bad. Clinton is definitely more electable than Sanders, but once in the White House, she’d be facing a generation’s worth of accumulated GOP hostility, distrust and bile. I’m afraid she’d be able to get even less done than Obama.

They would do that regardless of who the Democrat is-at least Clinton is used to it and is under no illusion about “bipartisanship” in this day and age.

I think the Democratic nominee is likely to win no matter who gets the Republican nomination. Hillary will be bad, but not as bad as Sanders.

Sanders is far superior and ore genuine than Clinton and this country would be better off with him as president. His message is that America can be much better, can have better healthcare and other socialogo grams like say Denmark, and more equity. Hillary is like we have to be thankful for what we got and not to dream too much. Sanders allows voters who think outside the box and assure them that the country could be vastly improved.

Hillary is for those who feel it can’t get any better, and this is as good as it good as it gets. Prgmatic, read boring and can’t think outside he box.

Bernie is for those who think things can always be better, and things are possible and being a dreamer or idealist is possible.

My heart wants Bernie; my head wants Hillary. I went with my head on this poll.

Lean left, going for Clinton. I think she’s more electable and, while neither Democratic candidate really excites me, Clinton I can accept as a workhorse who’ll more or less keep the lights on and the boat afloat. Stuff’s just getting back to stable, I don’t need someone trying to uproot the system until my house is paid off.

I like Bernie a lot. I don’t really care much for Hillary. I am voting for Hillary, pragmatism and all that.

So, voters actually don’t have brains?

There’s no option for “I have no fucking idea.”

For once, I’m glad to have a little time to watch the primaries unfold before it’s my turn to cast my ultimately meaningless vote.

Am I the only one who finds the poll results in this thread interesting? There are a lot more “lean left” than “lean right” responses, but among both groups, the split is about the same. I would have expected the folks who lean left to go more strongly for Sanders, and the folks who lean right to go more strongly for Clinton.

Some left-leaners want Clinton because they see her as more electable, or better-suited to get things done working with a Pub Congress.

I can’t think of any reason why any right-leaners would want Sanders . . . unless they’re really right-leaning, i.e., Pubs thinking strategically.
