I have a cell phone, but I rarely turn it on. 99% of time I use it to make short outgoing calls only (calling for a cab for example). I would only leave it on if I was expecting a call (Do you want to get together for lunch? - Let me check first with so-and-so and I’ll call you back in a couple minutes.)
Despite the fact that I rarely use it, I make sure that I always carry it when I leave the house just in case of emergency. If I don’t have it I feel naked.
stereo - 1 in the front room, but wish I had one upstairs as well cos I love music
cell phone - Hubby and I both have one.
pager - Nope. Don’t see the need when I have a mobile.
VCR - 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs. Not that we watch tons of tv but the things I like are on during the day whilst at work or on late at night (weird psychological, anthropological, sociological documentary stuff) so have Kal record them.
video game console - Yep. Dreamcast and Play Station. When the PS2 drops in price a bit more we will probably get one for the DVD value as well as gaming features.
computer accessories - Digital camera. Love it. Bought it on trip to Japan few years ago. Lots of fun. Sold scanner when moved to UK. Have 2 printers.
your own computer - 3. 1 Compaq laptop. 1 HP PAvilion MX70 thingy obtained through offer at work (<£300 ) and an old machine that was near top of the line back in 1996/7…
Love gadgets and electronics :O)
Things we don’t have but quite a few people do (would say most but would probably spark a debate on that) - microwave, chip pan/frier, lawn mower or weed whacker, clothes dryer
TV - Yes, but no access to cable where (I’m told) most of the good stuff is. I hardly watch TV anyway.
Stereo - I have a portable CD Player. I don’t use my stereo. Lord knows when I last listened to the radio.
Cell Phone - Yes.
Pager - No.
Computer - Yes, a desktop. Accessories - just a scanner and a printer. No digital camera or CD burner, but I might get these and a laptop in the next year or so.
Two TVs, but I don’t watch anything on them except the occasional DVD or VCD
Two stereos (an old black one and the DVD/CD player, which also picks up radio)
One cellphone
No pager
DVD/VCD/CD player
No video games
Scanner, digital camera, color and black-and-white printer, several laptops (mostly my dad’s, and God knows why he needs so many)
One computer and aforementioned laptops.
2 TVs: The big one hooked to the VCR (maybe getting a DVD soon)and cable. The old small one in the bedroom, rarely used. But it’s reliable and can pick up a lot with the rabbit ears if I need it.
Stereo: same one for 10 years. The CD player died, so I just run my Discman in thru the auxiliary. Works just fine.
A Playstation that I quit playing two years ago, and unhooked last year. I keep it around as a backup CD player just in case.
No cell phone. I barely use my regular phone. Don’t want one unless I start to travel more, then just for emergencies.
No pager. Never wanted/needed one, and I figure they’ll be phased out entirely since cell phones keep getting smaller and better.
One computer needing upgrading soon. Has a CD burner, but it been out of commission for a while. No scanner just a printer and a joystick, neither used much.
No digital camera, I take few pictures these days with the old film one. Hell, I have film in my fridge from 1995 that needs developing, if it’s still capable of being developed.
BTW, I haven’t owned a watch of any kind since 1992, never missed wearing one.
Stereo: One functional system and pieces-parts of a second at home, and a nice little bookshelf system at work.
Cell phone: Got one. I used to never want one until I got a job that takes me to remote parts of Indiana where a sweet little thing like me (work with me here) should never get stranded. Only the people I work with, my hubby and my mom have the phone number.
Pager: Yes, for work. It tells me I have voicemail and functions as my watch most of the time.
Video Playback: Yup, VCR and DVD.
Video Game Console: NO NO NO! If I believed in Satan, I would certainly believe that Nintendo / Playstation / what have you is one of his tools
Computer toys: Just a digital camera, which we use all the time.
Your own computer: Well, I do have to share it with WinkieHubby.
TV: A tiny one which is now in my stepson’s room (my g/f has two wide screen TVs -and I almost never watch them)
Stereo: A boombox type dual cassette AM/FM one I bought in 1988, and a CD player I bought in 1991.
Cell Phone: I’m Australian -of course I have one. Got my first about '93 or so.
Pager: Nope. Why bother when I have a cell phone?
Video: Never owned one. My g/f has a VCR and a DVD player. I never use either of them.
Games Consoles: Nope. I enjoy a good computer game once every couple of years for about twenty minutes or so, then get so bored I never play it again. Not worth the money.
Computer accessories: Digital camera.
Computer: Elderly Pentium II which is on its last legs.
I’m lost without my computer. I’d trade all the others for my 'puter. I needs me internet.
television: Don’t have one. Grew up with one, watched it constantly. I know I would not get anything done if I had one now. Am not overly impressed with what (I have heard) is availabe for viewing now-a-days. (I will occasionaly watch on a trip when staying in a hotel and am not overly impressed then either.)
stereo: Yes. Including studio monitor speakers (Studying accoustics in college).
cell phone: Nope (I did buy my wife one for when she is out driving with the young’uns in the winter)
pager: No.
Video playback/recording device: Nope
video game console: Nope
computer accessories such as scanners, digital camers, etc.: Yep, scanner and digital camera both.
your own computer: Yes, 2 computers. I also have 3 computers in my cubible at work (solely for my use).
I also have 2 Palms (the handheld computer variety, not the padded part of the hand variety–although I have 2 of those as well).
I have at least one of each item listed, including a pager. The firm for which I work provided me with a pager. I have it set to page me whenever someone leaves me a voicemail. I’m not in my office much so it comes in handy.
I absolutely refuse to provide the firm with my mobile number. If they want to reach me when I’m not in the office, they’ll have to spring for a mobile phone.
Don’t have a cell phone, used to, but it was more trouble than it was worth, and it annoyed me to no end, I was findable wherever I went… ran it over with my car in frustration one day, and never looked back.
No pager.
No game console, want one, but can’t justify the expense when they come out with so many.
I do have three computers, and plenty of games for it. I like computers, at least you can upgrade them.
We have 1 through 8 in mass quantities. My DH believes in consumerism.
My DH has 2 cell phones, a pager, and a 2-way radio. Two years ago he insisted I get a cell phone. I absolutely hate it, hate it, hate it. We also have two incoming phone lines to the house. So, inevitably, if I am on one phone, DH calls me on the other. Tis maddening.
I have a television, but I have no TV reception. I don’t have cable and I’ve got no interest in fiddling with rabbit ears. The TV is there to serve the DVD and VCR.
No stereo whatsoever. I’ve got a clock radio, which is about as close as it gets.
No cell phone, and I don’t want one. Last Friday I was at a bar with twelve friends. I was the only one without a cell phone. I love it.
No pager. You wanna get in touch with me, email me.
I do have a DVD player and a VCR.
I have an Atari 2600 in the closet which has been unused for a decade and a Dreamcast currently on loan to my brother-in-law. So, no, I guess.
I have no accessories for the computer, not really. No printer, no scanner, no digital camera.
But I do have a hella lotta computers on folding tables in the spare bedroom.
