Who Else is Working Today?

(or - Join me in my bitterness as this day drags on and on with all the management and higher-ups having been gone all week already.)
Who’s got something to cheer me up with?

Well, You’ve been framed is on after Phantom menace. But that’s here in Britain.

I am working today, and tomorow, and the day after. Because the volume of work over crimbo is greatly reduced (but not eliminated) I am bored shitless.

Me. Dammit. I think I’m the only one here and NO ONE has called. I’m gonna duck out about 3 so we can get to my mom’s house early. This place is dead.

I am working today. But, not tomorrow, or Friday.
I am incredibly bored. The weather is terrible. Unbelievably windy! Too wet and windy for me to walk over to one of our other buildings(we have 5). So, I’m just goofing off on the internet, waiting to go home.

Actually, something exciting did happen. It’s so windy outside that a 55 gallon barrel was just lifted airborn, and smashed one of the Supervisors car. Crushed his windshield.

I’m here… for another 49 minutes and 30 seconds or so… but who’s counting?!?

Working until 7:00 PM EST tonight, off tomorrow, in at 8:00 AM EST Friday.

No managers around, very little staff, and I got the company’s 110% effort right here:mad:

I’m here, but we get to leave at 1:00pm CST.

I’m proud to say I haven’t done any work today, and have no plans for any.

Happy Chanukah! I exchange these days for future vacation (or, more accurately, past vacation :stuck_out_tongue: ). Isn’t that why message boards were invented?

I’m here

Admittedly, I own my own company and work out of my home, but I am dutifully plugging away, and will continue to do so until Mrs. The Magnificent gets home and makes me stop.

Happy Holidays To All

I’m here, but leaving at 3:00. We’ve got Friday off, but I’ll probably come in for a few hours.

Yup, I’m here supporting IT for about a fourth of our normal staff. And they’re all too busy eating and partying to even call in any problem tickets. So I’ll just sit here bored and catch up on my email. Merry Christmas!

Okay, the irony of saying ‘dutifully plugging away’ as I kill time on a message board just struck me.

I’m here 'til 5pm PST but I may be able to duck out early.

I was working this morning from 5 until about 10.

Then it was orf to the jolly old boozer, fight your way to the bar order, and proceed to indulge in the seasonal guzzling of the falling down water.

Not going out tonight, my liver needs a rest and I’m off for 4 days, whoopee!

Me. Just waiting for the underboss to give the woid and I’mouttaheah.

I am on call until 5.00pm Thursday night but no-on else is in. I am just catching up (or getting ahead of myself however you look at it) with some work so I don’t have to come in over the weekend or get any phone calls during my first days off in 3 weeks. I am also watching over one of my guys who is doing an assessment before he goes to a company technical training school. He has to pass with 75% or more so I am ahem helping him with certain questions. When he is done I am off to buy some bananas at the grocery store as I forgot yesterday then I am going home.

Happy Holidays

Dead here. The ATMs and card systems are working just fine, so there’s nothing for me to do except massacre time here on the board.

Looks like my only task will be to order pizza for everyone here with my corporate card. They didn’t give any spending guidlines, so we’re going to have “kitchen sink” pizzas with everything on 'em, salads and sodas.

I’m here, doing customer support for a popularish business info web site.

Number of calls received: Zero
Number of emails received: Zero
My tolerance for managers who still think we need a full staff today: Take a guess.

On the brighter side, I was first in line when the call went out for a volunteer to cover tomorrow from home (dial into the network via laptop, so I can still go to mom’s for the family festivities). On-call duty for Christmas gives phat double-time pay, a pager flat fee, and a comp day for next year. When I’ll get maybe one call tomorrow from some guy who celebrates Agnostica? Hell yeah, I’ll do it.

I’m right there with you, Hal - we’ve had one customer today, and about 2 phone calls. Well, I guess we’re not at full staff since all the managers are gone - nobody here but us chickens.

I’m here. And here I will stay until some work gets done that I need to sign. But dagnabbit I wanna go home…WAH! My back in spasming like nobody’s business and I am in major pain, so I am sitting here reading the SDMB trying to ignore the pain and hoping these guys hurry so I can go home.

Even though next week are holiday days for the whole company, well actually the whole industry, I will be here. Too much to do, so little time.

Happy holidays to all and to all a good paycheck.
