Who hasn't Never Been Anywhere?

Frustrated that I can’t post to and therefore won’t open any of the other threads, I thought I’d start this one. Not just to be silly or mock the other threads either. The question (despite its rediculous wording) stands. Who can say that they’ve not ever not been anywhere?

If you take the question apart and get rid of the redunant negatives, you end up with the questin of ‘Who has been everywhere?’. But, that not really what I mean. Who has been to everytype of climate/region/unique type of area that the world has to offer?

Me? I’ve been to/seen

Deserts - the Chihuahuan, the Sonoran, the Great Basin and the Mojave in the US - as well as an all expenses paid trip to one in Saudi Arabi funded by the USAF.
Snow - I live in WI
Oceans - I’ve lived in Fl. I’ve seen the Pacific as well.
Mountains - Rockies, Applachians, Ozarks, and Italian Alps
Prairies - The one that makes up the center of the USA
Caves - The most memorable being Carlsbad Cavern.
I don’t think this one’s been asked, But:
Rainforest - In the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.
and yes, I’ve even bit the Ferrule
Anyone else not never been anywhere?

Unfortunately, I don’t come close to qualifying this, but I have to say I like your style.

For the record, I’ve done deserts, mountains, oceans and snow – almost all in Southern California, though.

Deserts - never seen a desert
Snow - I live in IL
Oceans - I’ve swum in 3 oceans: Atlantic, Pacific and Indian
Mountains - Smokies (Appalacians), Alps (Swiss, Austrian, German)
Prairies - Same prairie as the OP
Caves - Mammoth Caves, plus other smaller ones.
Rainforest -no rainforrests for me. Jungles though.

To which I can add
Rift Valley- On safari in Kenya we saw the Great Rift Valley.
Savana - Same trip as above, not the same as a prairie.
Swamps - The Florida Everglades and the Louisianna bayous. (would a bayou another category?)

Rivers and Lakes seem to me like they should be included with the rest of these.

Dagbaggit! Ah cain’t take you nowhere!

I haven’t never been anywhere. I think.

Deserts - Driven through a few
Snow - Grew up in Connecticut and Vermont, so yes
Oceans - Played in the Atlantic while growing up, now I live by the Pacific
Mountains - Driven up and down the Rockies, climbed and hiked all over the Green Mountains of VT and the White Mountains of New Hampshire
Prairies - Drove through the big one in the middle of the US
Caves - A few here and there
Rain forest - I think so. According to Wikipedia, the area around Vancouver BC is a temperate rain forest.

Bit the Ferrule - Before today, no. But then I read that thread and had to try.

From the time I was born until my father’s death when I was 13, every summer was spent in the Travelall, towing our camper all over the country. The only continental state I’ve yet to see is Florida, so unless the question is “have you been to Disney World”, the answer is probably “yes”.

Deserts - The Mojave
Snow - Grew up in New Jersey, Lived in PA for a bit, been to Tahoe in winter.
Oceans - Atlantic & Pacific (and Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico)
Mountains - Appalachians, Rockies, Sierra Nevada
Prairies - Drove through the big one in the middle of the US (same answer as lightingtool)
Caves - Penn’s Cave in PA and I remember seeing a few in Puerto Rico
Rain forest - El Yunque in Puerto Rico

I’ve been on a few cross country trips through the south and mid parts of America, as well as along both coasts, and all across the southern part of Canada. Also been to Hawaii and Honduras. So I’ve seen a good range of environments…

I’ve travelled all over the world and seen all the above.

But I’ve never been to me.

Is the OP including the little cobblestoned streets of medieval European cities?

Not sure that this answers the OP directly, but my wife has a great aunt who grew up in Swansea, Wales. She is 90+ now (and still living alone in her own house). 2 of her brothers live on the same street (another brother passed away a couple of years ago, and he lived on the same street). She has never been out of Wales.

I think the furthest she’s travelled is up to Aberystwyth (about 70 miles). I had asked her about this, and she simply had no desire to go places or see different things.

That said, she has seen ocean, snow, (small) mountains and caves.

I’m sorry you have to state your question in answer form? What do you mean?
Have I been to Cities? Yes.
European Cities? Yes.
Medieval European Cities? Well, I’ve never been to any cities in the middle ages - I was born much too late, but I’ve been to cities that have been around since before the middle ages that have little cobblestone streets. On another USAF funded trip I spent some time in Italy. I visited Venice, Florence, and Rome. So, depending on your question - Yes here as well.

I haven’t never been to more anywheres than I thought!

Deserts - north Africa mostly
Snow - yes, we have snow in the UK, not much but it’s still snow. I’ve been to very snowy parts of Europe too
Oceans - I live on an island…
Mountains - Europe has lots of those, seen them in the US too
Prairies - does flying over them count as “seeing” them?
Caves - lots of 'em
Rainforest - Peru and Mexico
Swamps - yup, seen some of those
Savannah - seem a bit of that too
Arctic tundra - peeked at it from inside lots of layers of warm clothing
Ice - cruising in the arctic circle

Wow. I had no clue that my little “Who’s never seen the ocean?” thread would spawn such a multitude of threads. As for this one, I’ve never been to the desert (well, no desert I’d call a desert), nor to prairies, nor to caves, so I’m right out.

Dang it.

Clever BBS2K, but that’s outside the scope of the question. Sadly, I’ve never been to Uranus - but that doesn’t count either.

My generic answer from one of the other threads.

I’ve been in several caves, I like caves.

I live near and have swam in the Atlantic, I lived near and swam in the Pacific, I even swam in Lake Michigan, my boat went through the Indian Ocean.

I have driven through the desert and the prairie. I have been in the Rockies.

I have been in castles, many castles, mainly in Scotland. I have seen Loch Ness, I visited Findhorn. I was briefly in London.

I have visited NYC, LA, Chicago, New Orleans, St Louis, Cincinnati, Minneapolis, Philly, San Francisco, San Diego, Vancouver, Indianapolis, DC, Baltimore, Orlando, Tampa, Denver & many other smaller cities. (I’ve been near Boston)

I have been to Hong Kong, Bangkok, Pusan, Honolulu and a few others.

I have sailed large boats and small. I crewed on an Aircraft Carrier. I even landed on and flew off the carrier. I have also sunk in a boat. I was once underwater, but only for 20 minutes in 1986.

I have been to the top of the Empire State Building, World Trade Centers, RCA building & Sears towers. I have also been far below Manhattan in a scary looking electrical room with leaking steam pipes and a raw sewage smell.

I have ridden a Bike and seen the sky. Hell, I even saw a purple haze once.

Jim

Snow: I’m currently living in Canada.
Mountains, caves, and cliffs: many different ones on climbing and/or kayaking trips.
Oceans: I’ve set foot in both the Pacific and Atlantic.
Prairies: Yup.
Jungle/rainforest: I’ve hiked in a Central American rainforest.
Desert: I’ve trekked through a gypsum desert.
Volcano: I’ve walked across very, very old lava flows in New Mexico. Nothing even remotely active.
Swamp: had to study a couple in school and hiked through a floating peat bog.
Savanna: Only a little bit in central America.

Nothing arctic. No scuba. No sky, although Fianceephone has gone skydiving.

Apparently there’s a chap in Rutland who has never been out of the county. It’s about 12 miles across!

Let’s see how I do on this:

Deserts - none yet, but I plan on seeing some real soon.
Snow - I can see some outside my window, actually. Shall I send you some?
Oceans - Pacific and Atlantic, and we can throw in the Mediterranean for the hell of it.
Mountains - Rockies, Appalachians, Laurentians, Sierra Nevada (the Spanish one), Cordillera Cantabrica.
Prairies - None yet.
Caves - One while visiting Banff as a child, as well as mines in both Sudbury and Timmins (which I’ll count as caves by virtue of their being underground)
Rainforest - None yet, unless you count a simulated rainforest set up at the Ontario Science Centre many many years ago.

Hmmm… apparently I need to work on my desert and prairie components, and I’ve seen a hell of a lot more mountain ranges than I thought. Go fig.
