Baker, you should go to the nearby bowling ball yard. Just because.
Ummm, were you eatin’ popcorn…or Lucky Charms? ![]()

When I had my tongue pierced my piercer was light on aftercare instructions. Specifically he failed to mention NO bread or beer. I guess the yeast causes problems because my tongue swelled as much as the barbell allowed and then some, leaving me unable to speak and in a lot of pain. A friend clued me in and I resisted the urge to give up and remove the barbell, although I didn’t eat much of anything for the next two weeks or so for fear of a repeat performance.
Over the next few years I gradually stretched it out to a zero with no additional problems. I removed the bar about ten years ago but I don’t think it’ll ever heal; I can’t squirt water or fit a car key through the hole anymore but matches and toothpicks are no problem.
The only thing really unfair thing is I’m not obscenely wealthy so can visit the Mumpers and Hockey Peeps more often. Although there is another theory on the unfairness of life. ![]()
And for those keeping score, dinner is chicken marinated in Chardonnay, olive oil, garlic and shallots and breaded with Italian bread crumbs, served with three cheese herbed rice and a salad with balsamic basil vinaigrette and topped with Asiago and panchetta cubes.
Set the cat to 0dark30 next Monday. ![]()
Welcome, Sweater! And good luck on fighting the ivy.
That’s what we did in '86 when we went to Germany.(it helped we had my uncle’s BMW and his US Military gas coupons to make getting around easier)
Spidey, maybe the cook just sneezed in your order, Cook: “Cashew!” Waitress: “Bless you!”
Sunny, bummer about the migraines.
Midget, I second what rosie said about the tongue. but feel better generally.
Emtar(for got what we nicknamed you),
on the tongue thing.
Tooth is fixed, work is done, arm is still pretty swollen and sore. May just have to push at work and see if I can get some medical attention from someone higher up the food chain than Dave who was cross-trained as a medic in the Army.
(Now had he been some black-shoe air-weenie -------------
)
Read back and saw I forgot to mention - lost a small piece of tooth this AM leaving a sharp edge by the tongue. Called my dentist when they opened and asked if I could get seen today. Got seen almost right away. Sometimes I get lucky.
Ruble glad your tooth got fixed. I hate it when that happens!
Emtar
Burly mover guys were back. More was done. More to be done. I hate moving. The kids are off Poke walking with DH. It’s actually cooled off enough to open windows (yay)!
My stupidity tooth has a sharp point that really bothers me sometimes, but I call it the stupidity tooth because it’s impacted in his neighbor; the dentist can’t do anything about that particular piece other than be very, very careful when he cleans it. I have no idea why dentists say “impacted” where other people would just say that thing has grown inside the other one. Maybe they wanted their own word?
Nava why haven’t they pulled it? That sounds like a bad thing, dentistry-wise…
Lovely cool morning! By Firday, it’ll be hot and muggy again, but for a couple of days, it’s been nice.
Leftover pizza for breakfast… and lunch. Yum! Lots of stuff on my desk to be done. Other than that, just another day in paradise. Happy Tuesday!
Because they’d have to pull both of them and they’re healthy. Too cozy but healthy. So long as they’re healthy they’ll stay in place. Most of my dentists have had no compunctions about pulling pieces if needed, but those two are just… quirky. And solid as rocks.
Tuesday flavored blurf
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. I’m off today, so I shall clean the apartment.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 79 Amurrkin out and sunny with a predicted high of 95 with a heat index of 105 and partly cloudy for the day. There’s also a chance for afternoon tstorms. We shall see.
Today I shall be a bear who lunches (N.O.L.). JDD and I are goin’ to Tokyo for sushi. JDD Partner and OYKW both can’t stand sushi and we like it so every once in a while we sneak off together to get sushi. Lookin’ forward to that. Afterwards, we’re goin’ up to the nursin’ home in large and in charge Dawson, Jawja to visit JDD’s parents. Thus are my big plans for the day.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. I shall also purtify for the public at some point.
Happy Tuesday Y’all!
Thanks Swampy, I needed an idea for lunch.
It ties into my theory of why all doctors say they have a “practice” ----- not one of those a-holes has gotten it right yet! ![]()
The arm looks better than it did but the pain level and part of the swelling is about the same. May have to really push HR about seeing the company doctor and maybe getting a X-ray. Have I ever mentioned how much I love our HR? :smack:
Dog is walked, pot o’ coffee #2 is brewed ,and the brunch Mise en place is set.
It’s just a flesh wound.![]()
But if it ain’t better, push HR.
swampy, my sushi place is Mura. I like it because if you tip the staff extravagantly ,they give you real wasabi and extra olives in the martinis. ![]()
Blurf Where I work you only need a tiny wound to get a trip to medical. And the supervisor must fill out reams of paperirk.
Happy Toosday!
My first post went poof and that annoyed me, so I found something else to do.
It was cool overnight, down into the 50s. It’s bright and sunny outside, 79 degrees outside.
We picked up the groceries this morning. Not much else on the agenda, just the usual boring SSDD.
This. And there’s a lovely swab awaiting you when your receive treatment.
Otherwise, blurf.

If I ever get to your elbow of the woods, count me in for a sushi adventure. Been too long since I’ve had good sushi…the demographics of where I live are such that I can either get industrially-made stuff in industrial quantities at Sam’s Club, semi-fresh made on-site but not to order at the grocery store that’s ten miles away, or make the grand two hour trek to SF, where sushi so fresh it’s still wriggling is easily (but not cheaply!) found.
