Howdy Y’all! Home from my excursion to the [del]bait shop[/del] sushi place and the nursin’ home. OYKW, clown that he is, calls it the bait shop. Anywho, JDD and I had a hyuuuuuuuuuuuge N.O.L. I et a buncha bait. 
His ‘rents were happy to see me as always. I’m always happy to see them as well. They’re good people. We visitated for a while then left. Bingo is at three this afternoon and his mother said she needed to rest up before bingo. If’n a rest up is needed before playin’, that must be some cutthroat bingo! :eek:

On the theme of lunch and “who ordered this crap?” Today’s lunch box review from the 6-year-old: “Wheat bread? Granola? Yogurt? Fruit? Juice? Haven’t you ever heard of Oreos?!”
Feeding my own mild obsession with mid-century design this afternoon. Going to pick up a new-in-the-box fondue set that someone had listed on the local yard sale site. It’s very retro cool, and I have nowhere to put it, but I want it!
Need to do housewife stuff for a few minutes, and then get decent for commercial transactions like buying a fondue set and picking up Tony’s prescription and buying some more wheat bread and yogurt.
(Miss Six gets ice cream on Fridays and cookies or something sweet in her lunchbox another day or 2 each week. I’m not a monster!)
Leftover pasta for supper tonight. It’s Day 65 of +90° here, and the microwave sounds like an excellent plan.

Well, the housing work began today with a high-pressure house cleaning of the wood frame, which deposited many paint chips around and about. Painting and repairing is due to begin tomorrow.
Meanwhile my garage door opener has decided not to work, I’ll check the manual and see if there is a reset I need to use, otherwise just another middle-class problem…
Kid’s soccer practice in a couple of hours, and given that it’s 88F, I suspect that a couple of bottles of water will be consumed before dinner.
I switch to Long Term Disability (cue ominous music) tomorrow. Blurf. I wish someone, somewhere understood headaches better. Still looking for that someone.

I think I’m the only person on the continent who doesn’t eat sushi.
Not that I’ve been eating much lately, with this nasty tongue injury. I had some medicinal ice cream today, at least.
We gots rain and tboomers comin’ through. YAY! Makes me want to go to bed which I won’t of course it bein’ only six p.m. In the past hour the temp has gone down ten degrees. Bliss!

MetalMouse there is a reset somewhere on your door opener. I’ve reset mine a couple of times. Of course, I always have to look at the manual to see where the button is cause I can never remember.
MetalMouse reset is usually up on the main housing, which involves a step ladder. You will have to do a re-pair thingy too, which I’m pretty sure involves goats and squid. It’s kind of a pain.
Question for the group: I need help picking my new Dope name. I’ve gone to TPTB a few time (OK, it’s Ed) and either someone already has the obvious option (Sunny) or he thinks I lack originality (probably true).
I would like a Dope name that is, well, more Dope than “ddsun”. I like my MMP name a lot, but Ed tells me that although there are no active “Sunny” users, there are quite a few registered “Sunny” folks. So Sunny is out. I suggested “They Call Me Sunny” and he suggested that I go try again (although it’s available). I’d like to go back to him with some names to choose from that would still work with Sunny.

Thinking I need to get it together enough to have a real party without firing up the grill. Fondue and cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Maybe something spectacular from Lilek’s Gallery of Regrettable Food, just for giggles and authenticity? I’ll avoid tablecloths, or avoid inviting a brother-in-law! (Easy enough on the latter - one’s in Virginia and the other in California.) Maybe it’s time for a girl’s night in.
In other news, I’ve agreed to a camping trip with my husband in October. Apparently, he is not gonna shut up about his obsession with sleeping in a vehicle until we try it once. I confidently predict that we will spend at least one night at the nearest hotel that has a vacancy. Not because I can’t sleep in a camper, but because he can’t. I will, and have done so before. I just don’t understand why anyone thinks it’s fun!
Will probably have a camper and a bunch of gear for sale by November!

Sunny, swampy, tried the reset but it doesn’t look like the unit is getting power (I checked the lines and they appear to work). Will call the company tomorrow.
Practice was a chore, the players went knucklehead on me, seemed to forget everything they had been learning, but they scrimmaged a girls team they had beaten twice (we share the field for practice) and got beat 0-1, so maybe that will sober them up (nothing like getting beaten by girls to get their attention).
Also voted for Mayor and Councilman today; didn’t know much about any of them, so voted for the two most non-traditional names (the Mayor candidate was Hanu, and the District council was Wroblewski) just on General Principles.
I did and saw the Company Croaker today. Its a really bad hemoallthatstuff but nothing torn or nothing that needs a surgeon. Or a sturgeon. Although that last part seems fishy to me.
The bad news is that now my right arm is tired from the 183 pages of company forms I had to either fill out, sign or initial.
