Rupert’s out – I don’t share the love, and he’s got it sewed up anyway.
Do I vote for who played the game best, overall? I can’t even sort out who that might be – Jenna, as third place? Poor “betrayed” Tom?
Do I vote for the person who came across best in the final Tribal Council? That would have to be Tom, as providing, as someone said in the main thread, the best jury speech since Sue Hawk’s snake by the side of the road masterpiece.
Best at the reunion show would be – as also noted in the main thread – would be the Tag Team Voice of Reason of Shii Ann and Richard. Yikes. Who’da thunk?
Right now I’m actually leaning toward Shii Ann – whaddya think?
I’m sure Rupert will get the Million as I think the entire “public vote” is designed solely to give popular, but not-so-good players money, and I’m sure it’ll stick around.
However, I don’t really think Rupert deserves the money. So here are my choices (in no particular order):
Rob M: The only member who deserves the money but he won’t get it. It’s now hard to remember that he is a separate entity from Amber, so it already seems he’s won the money. It’s too bad he got engaged last night, or he’d have my vote.
Jenna L: I really don’t like her, but she did manage to control her tribe before the merge. She’s actually a pretty good player, if not for being dumb as a bag of hair.
Shii Ann: Should have been more strategic, but it seems like no one even approached her. At least she “gets it”. I don’t think anyone in this game was treated as overtly badly then Shii Ann, and yet only her and Hatch had any class.
Rudy: Deserves the money because he’s 75 and tough as nails.
I voted for Rupert. He deserves it because 1)He played two games back to back and 2)improved his game between them, resulting in him making the final four in a game against the best of the best.
Rob M. deserves it. He was a rare combination of a good strategist and a fearsome physical and mental competitor. Survivor usually has some folks who are good at the strategy of the game but not competetive in challenges (Richard Hatch) or good competetors who aren’t good strategists (Rupert). Rob is both. More than anyone else, he deserves the money.
I’ll not get to heated, I promise. Boston Rob was a snake in the weeds the entire game. I understand the game calls for a certain amount of that, but Kathy said it perfectly.
Paraphrase, " You were my confidant, I thought of you as a son! And you betrayed even that! You could have done the same thing (playing the game) had you just taken a parallel path…you would have acheived the same thing! Shame on you!"
Sway you? Rupert deserves it plain and simple. Don’t not give it to him because of non-trimming issues…
Do you know what he does for a living? He helps troubled youth stay out of jail. He’s a social worker who makes the lives of children who have been abused much, much better. Come on now, join in the love, give the mill to gentle ben.
I voted for Boston Rob. He is now the Best Survivor Player to Not Win.
He dominated all challeges - athletic and mental.
He engineered it so no one seriously considered voting him or Amber off, keeping everyone else off balance.
I figured, around the time he and Amber got separated, he realized he wasn’t just playing for himself, he was playing for two people. His goal was to get two specific people in the final 2 and had a lot of heart invested in doing so.
He played an incredible game.
As for Lex “Hey Ethan, it’s just business” and Big Tom “8th grade shake fake out” they are far more loathsome to me.
I don’t know who to vote for either. I think I have it down to 3:
Rupert is in the running, because he did improve in his second game to make it to the final four and I agree that doing 2 shows back to back must have been hard. He didn’t have as much time to analyze his first game as the others did.
Rob. C won my admiration in his first season but got voted off so quickly this time I don’t know if I should vote for him based solely on his first try. He really deserved to win that season, though. Maybe.
Rob M. is the Survivor to most improve his game. He knew what he had to do and did it - never pretended he was doing anything but trying to win. I respect that.
I don’t really care who needs the money more or what they are going to do with it. I want to vote for the best Survivor, not the biggest charity case.
Has anyone watched their plea videos yet? I can’t watch them from work and my home connection isn’t very good for watching stuff like that. If anyone said something interesting it might help.
Except he forgot that getting 4 votes from the jury is an important part of the game. He sucked at that, and that makes him just another loser.
As much as I would like to give my favorite non-Rombuh survivor a million $, I am troubled by what effect this will have on future shows if the contestants see this as a possible precedent. Why try to outwit, outlast or outplay, when you can win a million by being the most likeable?
My vote went to Rob C. I adored him in his first outing and although he got voted out early in All-Stars, it is still my opinion that he should’ve won it!
I think I deserve the million for enduring the most disappointing Survivor ever. Lex should be fined 1 million for making that dumb-ass mistake that set the tone for the outcome.
Cut the people who’ve already won, or gotten engaged to a winner, and all the asswipes, and anyone else who somehow thought that relations in the game have any bearing on real life, and we’re down to Rupert, Jenna, Kathy, and Rudy, perhaps Robb C. Then it’s down to whose family would benefit most, and who’d use the money most wisely. Rudy and Kathy are set already, and I think Robb is too. Don’t know about Jenna, but if she’s as passive IRL as on TV she might not be a good custodian of it. Nothing against the others, but I have a better feeling about Rupert than anyone else. My vote goes to him.
How in the world did Rupert’s game improve? He didn’t do jack shit, but he did it for longer, and he was an unmitigated disaster as a “leader” that he (and not Amber) is the true coattailer of the final Four, with Jenna protecting him every step of the way. He had every opportunity to get rid of Rob but didn’t, and I guess his code of “honor” didn’t prevent him from nailing both Rudy and Tom, who he allegedly had so much respect for.
Eliminating former winners (which I include Rob by association) and current asshats, the only peope left are Rudy, Rob C. & Colby. I’ll give it to Colby because he got the farthest of the three and did the least to embarass himself.
