Let’s face it, guys – Lemuria, CPG, Monkey Woman, and Creature are all nice to look at. It’s not like any of them are hurtin’ in the looks department. They just appeal to different folks in different ways.
Monkey Woman and Creature look to me like they know their way around a gym. Love it when MW’s hanging from the tree and you can see how strong and toned her body is. And Creature … she’s got abs to die for.
‘Less than amble boobs’? Are we looking at the same Lemuria? She has at least a C cup, if not more. Creature does not have a nicer body, IMO. I like a woman with curves, and Lemuria has them in spades (again, I must ask if we are looking at the same woman here.) I do think Creature is cute (except that hair, ugh, and I’m not a fan of piercings,) but she doesn’t do it for me like Lemuria does. And Cell Phone Girl has a real cute face, but again, not the type of body I prefer. It looks like I’d rip in in twain if I were to “be with” her, if you catch my drift.
And the more I think about it, the more I agree that Iron Enforcer was told to take a dive so he could be a villain. And I feel bad for Tyveculus, because he was obviously given the crappy costume in the hopes he would say it’s crappy, but as a result, he has to go back to his old costume. Everyone else has nice new ones. Hopefully they will give him another makeover with a good costume (though his is the best out of the ones they all had at the start. Maybe the producers felt they couldn’t improve upon it?)
And I prefered Monkey Woman’s original costume. It seemed more ‘primal’, and more in tune with her. The old one actually looked like animal hide, whereas the new one just looks like a lame tan bikini. And Major Victory really didn’t get anything except a shiney ‘crotch-piece’ and a cape. But then, he had such a simple design, and it worked so well, that there wasn’t a reason to change it by a large amount. (Except to make it even more like Superman’s by adding a cape. )
Maybe I’m missing something, but what was so impressive about MW hanging in there for nine minutes? It arguably says something about her tenacity, but couldn’t one just as easily surmise that that she didn’t fight as hard as those who made it through more quickly? Why did it take her so long to fight her way through?
I don’t watch the show, mind you, so I’m sure that I’ve missed something here. Exactly what was it about her nine-minute battle that was so impressive?
What did Tyveculus do to get through so quickly? I caught the very beginning of his attempt, then went off into the kitchen for a bit. Did the crawling technique help him that much (more advantageous center of gravity)? Or was it more brute force and less technique (IOW crawling wouldn’t have necessarily helped a weaker competitor)?
The two dogs easily weighed as much as any of the girls (Fat Momma not included, she is afterall a WOMAN not a girl). The girls either got tackled and quit (Cellphone Girl) or they tried but just didn’t have the strength to drag the dogs with them to the door. The guys all easily had the strength to just power through.
Monkey Girl just wouldn’t give up. The dogs had the power and had the weight to drag her down. She. Just. Wouldn’t. Give. Up. Essentially she hung on long enough for the dogs to get tired enough that she could then crawl to the door. You could tell the dogs were tired but they knew let off completely. And she was exhausted from trying to keep her body rigid for so long so that the dogs just didn’t toss her around for ten minutes.
It was a really impressive display of fortitude.
I was hoping though that there was another non-power through method to it. Like Monkey Girl could have walked along the top of the wooden fence and avoided the dogs completely. Or if Fat Momma had been able to distract the dogs by giving them a donut. But I uderstand that real attack dogs don’t really work that way.
I suspect that Ty is in better shape than any of the others, simply because he’s a firefighter (anyone notice that his helmet appears to be made from a shiny red firefighter’s helmet?). More than any of the others, he was able to muscle through the dogs. He was also the only one who met the dogs head on- he charged them right from the beginning. I was suprised that none of the others attempted to emulate him.
Like others, I suspect that Iron Enforcer was told to take a dive- but I’ll do it one better: I think he was a plant from the beginning. He’s been abrasive and non-superheroish right from the start. I bet his dive at the end was just so he’d end up in the elimination at the end of the episode.
I was kinda sorry to see Cell Phone Girl go- I thought she was cute in a worthless kinda way, and of everyone on the show, I liked her supposed powers the most (teleport from cell to cell? How cool is that?).
Anyone notice that they weren’t given the opportunity to explain themselves in the last elimination? I thought that Feedback had a good excuse- it’s traditional for the wisecracking hero to make fun of other superheroes, as long as it’s done good-naturedly… Spidey does it all the time. Besides, what Feedback said was pretty damn funny.
Tyveculus got ripped off in the costume sequence. More than any of the others, he was set up to fail. If I’d been in his shoes (or, rather, his stupid looking suit), I would’ve been pissed.
The three guys that made basically dragged the dogs along…anyone big and strong enough could make it, which is why Iron Enforcer looked like such a puss.
The trouble for the girls is that the dogs were just stronger…they were dragging Lemuria all around the yard, they would have done the same for CFG but she quit in 4 seconds. And they did the same to Monkey Woman, knocked her flat and dragged her around…the only difference is that she didn’t cry “uncle” like the other girls. Eventually by Brownian motion she ended up on the porch after ten minutes and was able to drag herself far enough to tap the door.
So even though the big guys had an advantage in the challenge, the girls could have passed as well. Even Fat Momma could have inched her way to the door, since the dogs were trained to grab and hold, not keep people away from the door. So Monkey Girl didn’t have the strength to just drag the dogs like the guys, but she did have the courage and endurance and smarts to know that the challenge was possible to complete.
Tyveculus was set up, but he could have passed the test either by rejecting the dorky costume or embracing it. And the test for the others was how they reacted to Tyveculus’s dorky costume. But Tyveculus only passed this one because Iron Enforcer had to go for script reasons. IE didn’t do anything particularly wrong in the costume contest, both Ty and Feedback could have been legitimately eliminated.
And Fat Momma did try to throw the dogs a doughnut. Didn’t work, attack dogs are trained never to take food except from their handler. Still worth a try though.
Just be sure you use mustard, and not ketchup. It will taste better. PYD, we’re going to just have to settle this difference out back, like Eomer and Gimli.
I looked around the site, and apparently they have the entire episode with the attack dogs online. It won’t let me access it from my location, though, so I can’t say how good it is.
Incidentally, why does everyone (including the Sci-Fi channel) refer to her as Lemuria? In her audition, she herself spells it “Lumueria”, and her powers are light-themed, not primate-themed, so that would make a lot more sense.
I’m glad to hear that the incredibly annoying Cell-Phone Girl is out, and Iron Enforcer was fated from the start to be a supervillain, whether he knew it or not.
And Lumueria vs. Monkey Woman is a legitimate debate… I prefer Monkey Woman, but I can recognize that Lumueria is hot. But Creature? I agree with D_Odds that she’s about on a par with Fat Momma, looks-wise, or maybe even below (and incidentally, does anyone else think they ought to be arch-nemeses?). She just looks way too artificial.
I’m convinced this show is scripted and it’s Stan Lee’s way to introducing and trying to stir up interest in some new superhero. I’m loving the show, but I still think it’s scripted.
Eh, there’s scripted and then there’s scripted. The producers surely have a plotline, and since eliminations are done on Stan/the producer’s whim, they can keep or reject anyone they like, plus they can throw low blows like Tyveculus’s costume.
But for the most part the contestants aren’t in on the script, barring Iron Enforcer’s dive in the attack dog contest, which was ruined by CFG.
One thing I’m interested in is the names and copyright. Major Victory and Lemuria are both Marvel characters. So if either wins is that going to be a problem for the Dark Horse comic that comes out?
