Over here in this week’s MMP, we started talking about a Nashville get together. @missred said that she’d be happy to join in a get together some Saturday but was leaving the organizing to someone else. Since I used to be the primary organizer for our regular get togethers in Philly, I happily stepped up to organize.
We’re looking at a Saturday but at the moment the date is open. I’m not sure who has what availability when or where so I don’t want to throw out a “It’ll be this date!” (unless an out of towner like @Tripler or @Misnomer happen to be passing through). I’m also not 100% sure how many of us there would be or where most people would be located. I know we had a decent group back when I first moved to Nashville in 2005, but I’m not sure who, beyond a few, are still here anymore.
So I guess my first question is… who is interested? From there, I can throw out some dates and places. @StGermain , @The_Stainless_Steel_Rat , are you guys up for the possibility (StG, I know you’re local, and metal mouse, I know you’d mentioned you aren’t that far away.)
I’m interested of course and being about 100 miles away it’s no great issue for me to drive up and back one weekend.
Right now, however, I am coaching kid’s soccer every Saturday through May, so that puts a crimp in my timing. But June should be clear.
I’d be good with that. Of course, I’m also good with trying to make this a monthly thing so people who have to miss one will be able to come to another one. I’ll be keeping things updated as I know more!
And how could I forget to ask @Superdude to get his butt down here? Seriously, hon. You’re too close not to.
The place I’m thinking of, if everyone’s amenable and we can decide on a date, is Homegrown Taproom in Donelson. Though I’m willing to be overridden.
I’ll be up for an impromptu “OMG An Out-of-Towner is Passing Thru!” next time I’m out that way, but don’t let my absence this time prevent any kickassery from ensuing.
