I just saw her band over the weekend (for the first time in a while), and they are as awesome as ever. If you folks go, you’re in for a swanky, swingin’ time.
What’s the etiquette of a dope meet-up, anyway? Do we get to learn each other’s real names, or would I have to keep referring to someone sitting near me as “really not all that bright”?
Well, you may be doing that anyway.
I’d be delighted to carpool but I’m pretty much in the opposite corner of town from nashitashii… Red Bug and Semoran-ish (Oviedo/Winter Springs border).
I used to live right around there, and my girlfriend and best friend are still in that area. I’m only about 15 minutes away right now, north on 17-92 where Casselberry fades into Longwood.
Well, at most of the Dopefests I’ve been to, people are introduced with both Dope names and IRL names (usually just first) and I promptly forget most of 'em’s IRL names. 
Don’t worry about it, guys. I don’t even know if I have the day off yet, and Acid Lamp is going to be at work all day that day anyway. It’d be worth the drive if we were both going, but I’m not so good at driving about in Orlando proper and the traffic sucks on the way into it.
Really Not All That Bright: as far as I’m given to understand, “Orlando Metro” region includes the areas around Orlando, including as far out as Poinciana and Haines City. At least I’m not living in Celebration. ::shudder:: Since that doesn’t please you, I’ll just remove my location altogether.

Ivy, I think BBVL just meant that in the sense of whether we’d include the concert as part of the Fest. Personally, I think that would be awesome but nobody else has really weighed in…

It would be very cool if you came to see me at the Ritz Carlton but I don’t want to direct the action too much so if it doesn’t workout location or time-wise that’s OK too. Last time we got together it was in the daytime.
Autolycus My husband and I found a licquor store that sells Raki and there’s a bottle on my bar right now. That stuff is addictive. Sorry you’re still out of town. (for those of you not in the know, Raki is a Turkish licquor that we tried for the first time at the last Orlandopefest)
May 3rd works well for me, now it just depends on whether or not I can afford the gas to drive up to Orlando. I’ll know my budget better closer to the date.
So still solidly fence-sitting, I guess.
I couldn’t think of anything for us to actually do besides sit around and chat and drink and such; while I’m sure we’re all sufficiently delightful to make that a worthwhile endeavor on its own, I think it would be cool if we supported one of our own while we’re at it.
If anyone HAS ideas for stuff we can do (besides the sitting around and chatting bit) please share…
Stupid questions: what kind of band is it? And will I get glared at for requesting Free Bird?
