With summer approaching it seems apt to see if perhaps the gaggle of Central Florida dopers and those in the surrounding areas may be interested in our own dopefest. Anyone? I can’t volunteer to host anything, if someone else can - great! If not, we can find somewhere to have the meetup.

Yeah, what trouble was saying. If we don’t get together before mid-May, outdoor locations will be Hot Hot Hot, without the added bonus of The Cure. That said I’m always up for dinner or something.
How far south are you guys willing to meet?
I’d consider anything on the Tampa - Fort Pierce line and the Ocala - Daytona Beach line, but that would depend on my schedule. As it comes closer to Orlando, it becomes more likely I will show up.
I’m going to be moving to the Orlando area after June, so I guess I’m out unless it’s on a good day in the middle of the swampy hot weather.
I’d be up for a lunch thing on a Saturday in Orlando.

As long as I know in advance, I’m up for anything in the Orlando area. May I recommend “The Wine Room” on Park Avenue, Winter Park for some post-dinner revelry? As for food, hmmm… it all depends on what people want.

Oh cool, people responded and are interested! Saturday lunch sounds good to me too. I work most evenings and so lunch makes scheduling easier. If however people want to do dinner then I can probably make it work with enough head notice.
Since I started the thread, I guess that makes me the rather responsible one for organizing it. How does May 12th grab everyone? Too soon?

Last time we organized one of these, four people showed up (of which I was one), and it was hot as Hades where we met. If we’re going to do it let’s do it indoors.
May 12 will work for me, but May 26 is out. My son is graduating high school.

May 12 is the day of the Leu Gardens Spring Jazz Stroll. My band will be performing (in case any of you are interested).
But before that I’d be up for a lunch thingy. I have a bad habit of pulling a no show for this sort of thing (because I’m basically shy) but I’m going to try and do better.
I really like the Wine Room on Park Avenue though I have to say that it’s quite easy to spend money tasting wine from those nifty wine tasting machines. My husband and I went through $40 in about 20 minutes.
Hey Ivylass congratulations on getting your son through high school. I know when my daughter graduated I felt quite relieved that high school was over. Now I’m just trying to get her through college but for some reason I’m not as concerned about that. Maybe it’s because she’s almost 21.
I’d love to join, assuming lurkers are allowed (and also assuming I don’t get shipped back overseas for work before then). I’m in West Palm but am always looking for an excuse to go to Orlando and hit Universal.
