Got your mail, thanks, Norinew. Card is on it’s way. Nothing about dope, or dopers on it. hehehe
Good luck on her and you.

E-mail sent.
Count me in.
Email sent. I also asked if it would help/be ok if my 16 year old daughter could say hi, as well. Do you think it would be better/worse to have other kids her age join in?
I’m in.
I’ve sent my email.
Well, she’s not allowed to have any teenage visitors at all, even her 13-year-old sister, so I would think that a note or something from a teen on “the outside” might be appreciated!
Oh, also, please send your cards or letters with username, even if you sign your real name as well. This is for my benefit. She’ll be telling me about all these cards and letters she’s getting, and except for the few of you I have off-board contact with, I won’t be able to make the connection. I’m just not that bright!
:o
I’ll send her one. Would she like some stickers or is she too old for that?
I’ll send you an email right now.
A card went out in today’s mail.
Email sent. I’ll also wait a week or so before mailing something out, so she doesn’t get a glurge all at once and then cricket noises in the mailbox.
Count me in!
I’m another in the “Art Card” group.
I’m in. I, too, will wait a few days for the initial flood to taper off.
Glad to see things moving in the right direction for you and your family.
Right now, she’s feeling like cutting, and also at a loss as to what to do with her hands, because of having to stop smoking. So anything like stickers, coloring books (with a more “adult” theme, like patterns, optical illusions, or something), markers, etc. would be great! Even if you wanted to take the time to look for line art online that might be good for her to color.
I’ve warned her counselor that I’ve given this information out on a couple of online communities, so she will be getting a lot of mail. Her counselor thinks that’s great!
Count me in too!
Sadly, I know all about that, so I’ll find her some pretty stickers or something fun and non-destructive to do with her hands.
I’ve sent an email so I can drop a line as well.
I’m in
I’d be happy to join in, and I’m sending you my e-mail too.
But… are you sure your daughter wants to get mail from Mom’s weird online friends? I only ask this because I know that at her age I would have been embarrassed to get a bunch of cards from my mom’s friends who don’t even know me, especially if I was opening them around other kids my age. I think it’s a good idea, I’d just hate to think of other kids making fun of her about it or anything.
Just sent an email.
I think that any contact will be appreciated. She has made a hard decision, and now has to make all new friends anyway, may as well claim some penpals while she’s having limited social contact.
norinew, I would love to send your daughter something. I will email you shortly, but I wanted to ask is she allowed a Discman and CDs in there? I’ve been there, they let me have music, so I thought I could send her a mixed CD or something. If not, I will find something else neat to send.
