I have a pair of pink and brown oxfords and a pair of green oxfords with skulls and flowers on them. I wore the green low-tops for years, replacing each worn-out pair with a new pair when the time came. I want more but am trying not to buy them.
No problem, Converse.com not only has pink Chucks in both high and low top versions for sale in men’s sizes, but they also allow you to design and buy custom Chucks in all sorts of other combonations.
Damnit! Now I will never be able to own every possible color and pattern.
That is awesome. He may be getting a pick pair for his upcoming birthday. Thanks!
It might have been possible once, but not anymore. I still have some red and white plaid *wool * ones that I bought in the early 90’s that I haven’t seen for sale in a long time, and if you start figuring in the John Varvatos designer ones you’re looking at spending at least $100 a pair. Though anyone who would pay that kind of money for Chucks is kind of a moron in my book.
I haven’t had a paid of Chucks for a while, but I just bought my 1.5 yo daughter her first pair. She immediately latched on to them at the store, so I knew it had to be. They’re very cute - white with red and black cherries and flowers.
$100 designer Chucks?
My inner Ramone just died a little bit.
No worries though, I still buy mine at Meijer for $30 a pair, or roughly three whole pairs to the one ugly overpriced designer ones. That’s good stuff.
My (4.5 year old) son has black ones with flames. He has adult men comment all the time on how cool they are. I see the envy in their eyes.
I have a pair of the low ones. It wasn’t for any fashion reason, it was because they were on sale at DSW and in my size. Men’s size 6 anything is a pain in the ass to find so I get shoes whenever I have the opportunity.
I have a pair of low-top black on black ones (they’re actually men’s shoes, I guess). I love them!

Ballerina feet! Ballerina feet!
Men’s size 6. Good lord, what do you have stumps or something? Just teasing, but really, damn. I wore a 6 when I was in 4th grade!
I wear black low-top ones on weekends. My first pair (yellow high-tops) were purchased in 1987. I remember getting hit on by a guy at a neighboring school who was wearing green high-tops while we were taking our 3 hour pre-licencing course. He was so awesome. ::sigh::
I’ve been eyeing the pink high-tops for my 2 year old, but maybe I’l get her little black ones like mine.
Apparently, there’s a BFF-style fad that’s going on with the young folks these days. I met a young girl…she was maybe in 6th grade or so…and she had one pink one on, and one green one on. Her dad told me that girls will each buy a pair in a different color and swap one shoe. I guess you have to pick a BFF who has the same size feet you do!
Like Antinor01?
Oh, lordy, honey, we were doing that with KEDS back in the '80s!
The, uh, :smack: part of that being, of course, that Keds are all pretty much identical. But if you looked closely, your BFF’s friendship pins pinned onto the Keds were unique, and all yours forever, or until lunchtime when the bitch decided she liked Carrie Bauer better.
Meh, you can all bite me.
I’m actually somewhere between a 6 and a 6 1/2, depending on style. The Doc Marten’s I’m wearing right now are a european 38, wait a sec…that’s still a 6, ah well.
Well, it’s better than my aunt, she wears something like a 3 or 4. Her doctor once told her that in theory she shouldn’t even be able to stand on them.
Maybe I can borrow Nutty Bunny’s 2 year olds shoes.
I have a pair of black Chucks. I live in them.
You can get those in adult sizes–at least you used to be able to. I have a pair. I should go dig them out…
