I found it on a Youtube video (JLA tribute), and it’s claimed to be by Mozart. True? It’s pretty dark if it’s him, but I like it.
Not Mozart. Requiem for a Dream was composed by Clint Mansell, and variations of it have been widely used in movies and trailers:
A-ha! I heard “Requiem for a Dream” and thought of the movie, and was thusly confused. It was pretty good. Thenk yew.
I’m reading the thread and thinking “Where do I know the name Clint Mansell from?” and lo and behold it’s the same guy who was the lead singer of obscure Brit indie rockers Pop Will Eat Itself, responsible for timeless classics such as “Beaver Patrol” and “Love Missile F1-11”. He’s certainly moved on in his career.
Moved to CS.

Why did they layer Lisa Gerrard’s “Shadow Magnet” under there? The songs don’t even match up.
Edit: Also thought I’d point out that “Love Missile F1-11” is actually by Sigue Sigue Sputnik, not Pop Will Eat Itself.
True, but the Poppies released a cover of it as their second single. I’ve repressed my memories of Sigue Sigue Sputnik for some reason.
