Who's currently lit, (high,) while reading this thread tittle?

Because I’m about to get high.

Bonus:

What do you plan doing besides being on Straight Dope?

Not yet. Soon probably. If I’m lucky, the pint of blood I donated a few hours ago will give it an extra kick.

Edit: Your second question. Generally once I’m…less than sober, I resolve myself to consuming media and not adding to it. That usually seems to manifest itself in a few hours of youtube and than going to bed. For the last few months I watched a lot of Pink Floyd videos.
Whoever Roger Waters had singing and playing lead guitar with him a few years ago is really good.

Nice!

Looked it up again, it’s Doyle Bramhall II. I’ve really taken a liking to this video. Cued up to Comfortably Numb, but the whole concert is really good. I mean, the Wall, Animals, DSOTM, Wish You Were Here etc, they got a little bit of everything.

I’ve seen Roger in concert twice (got really lucky and he came through MKE twice on one tour), with Andy Fairweather Low, IIRC.
I’d love to see David someday, but I have a feeling the ship may have sailed on that one. Besides, last time he toured, tickets were something like $600.

Fun fact, and relevant to the topic. So my friend and I are at the Roger Waters concert. Right before it started some random guy behind us taps me on the shoulder, hands me a pipe and asks if I want a hit. It was one of those pipes that looks like a car cigarette lighter. Sure. I take a few puffs. Hand it to my friend she hits it a few times and gave it back to him. Hours later, when the show is over. I looked over at her and at the same time we both said ‘uh, are you still high’. We both were and we both noticed that it tasted funny. I don’t know what was in it, but it was more than just weed. My WAG has always been that it had some mushroom dust in it.

Damn… That’s a lot of dough.

I’m watching YouTube currently. Mostly news and video game videos.

I may watch High Score on Netflix. (Video Game doc)

I just watched the first episode of that. Being past my ‘I love movies with subtitles’ phase, it was a bit more work that I was looking for. My main issue with subtitles is that I can’t ‘watch’ the movie and look at my laptop or phone at the same time. I don’t know if the other episodes also feature so much Japanese. I’ll likely watch at least another one.
I also watched the first episode and half of the second episode of Captive and I’ll probably give Unwell a shot at some point in the near future.

I saw two episodes of High Score, there’s less Japanese in the second one I think… But we meet the dude that supplied the sound effects of Donkey Kong, so there’s a little Japanese.

At some point I saw a documentary on the making of Nintendo. So I did have some idea as to what I was getting in to. But obviously Atari and arcades go a step earlier.
Oh, and when they were talking to the guy who’s dad was the inventor of Channel F, until they put the woman’s name on the screen, I was honestly unsure as to whether or not the woman next to him was Michelle Obama. Dead ringer for her though.

There’s not a lot about Nintendo’s launch that I didn’t already know, but they get into the game magazine Nintendo Power which was actually pretty cool. I’m looking forward to the next one. Being almost 40, I was in my prime when Genesis came around, and still partial to SNES.

I knew she looked familiar to me. I didn’t put much effort into placing it.

Y’all having a party up in here.

Be safe and enjoy.
:upside_down_face:

I believe I used to get the magazine as well. I also had a Game Genie. IIRC, Nintendo Power usually had Game Genie codes in it.

No… Nintendo was dead-set against “game enhancers”.

To be honest, they kinda sucked the fun out of the game anyway.
Granted, I used it all the time. But getting infinite lives or allowing Peach to jump across the entire level takes removes most of the challenge.

How old were you back then?

I was born in 80, the NES came out in 86 and we got it when it was still new, so I was probably 6 or 7, and lived on it for a long, long time. I have the mini version of it now. Which, for the record, is pretty much exactly the same. It even uses identical controllers.

Yeah… Born in 80 as well. I didn’t get the NES mini, the Switch has almost all of those games for free, so…

Alcohol based high. Decently inebriated. @MyFootsZZZ is welcome to pass me some other inebriations. Honestly I wish I had a handful of LSD sugar cubes.

I’d pass to you. No LSD sugar cubes, sorry.

Yeah, I was properly medicated last night. Was bingeing Suits on Netflix, which was sorta an updated LA Law.
