Who's missing that you really want to see on the Board?

I recently realized that we haven’t seen @Hypnagogic_Jerk for a while. Always a good commentator on Canadian, and especially Quebec, affairs; but with a good grasp of pretty much everything.

:exploding_head:

I think we have a winner.

I don’t have 50 places I even go to. Ever. Three or four websites in a day perhaps. Banking, SDMB, mail. And some news site or the Mariners

^Same here. I may go to ~10 tabs maybe if I’m researching something
which links to other sites in a rabbit hole type of way, but I like to close
them when I’m done or it looks untidy !

@kayaker has stated numerous times that if he needed more coronary procedures, he would hang it up rather than go through the onerous recovery he had before.

Hopefully he changes his mind - some of the procedures he was staunchly against have become much less invasive in the last few years, with a much easier recovery than what he had in the past.

Hell, I did this back in 2015 during the Trump 1.0 runup. American discourse was going to poopy even then and people I otherwise respected starting expressing opinions I didn’t really care for, in ways I definitely didn’t care for.

I mostly became a ghost, I lurk a few forums/subreddits/etc related to my vocation but that’s about it. I don’t miss any of it.

Okay, how do you know you have exactly 489, rather than “about 500” ?

That is an oddly specific number.
I usually have three or four open and close down to none or two when I am done for the day.

OneTab or similar extension?

No onerous recovery reported, in fact he wrote he was back to work 2 days after his procedure.

Here he is considering that given his quantity of years left, he would prefer not to have major invasive surgery that would compromise his quality of life.
Seems like a reasonable response, not a death wish.

Really people, y’all are projecting way too much about his motivations for putting the sdmb on ignore.

Compromise his quality of life for a few weeks recovery time or death? Hmm…

Suure…

How would you ever find what you are looking for? That’s way more difficult than simply opening a new tab when you want it.

And what computer do you have that it can still run with 489 open webpages?

I see I have 18 windows open at the moment. Usually it’s not even that many.

I’m shoe shopping at Hoka and Altra so I currently have 3 tabs open.

I have two email accounts, this tab, and two other SDMB tabs open. The browser tab opens with 5 tabs I want to remember exist; I usually close them when I get started. If I’m writing, I have a translation page and a thesaurus page upen, plus whatever scholarly PDFs I’m using at that time.

It displays the number.

Give us a screenshot.

I keep getting the ‘can’t embed images in a post’ message; I know I’ve gotten around it before, and could probably get around it eventually here, but — why? What’s the use of a screenshot showing how many tabs are open if I’ve already mentioned how many tabs are open, since it’s not like I have anything to gain by saying I have more or fewer tabs open than happens to be the case?

Screen shot or image online/on device->Imagur or some other host->copy URL->post URL here.

With Imagur, you have to copy the URL on a specific screen. See How to embed pictures from imgur

What does? The browser? The operating system?

Just mild curiosity. I’ve never seen my computer display how many tabs I’ve got open. I’m very slightly interested to see it. Not a big problem if you don’t want to, or can’t work out how to.

This happens when the preview pane is visible. Hiding it will usually solve the problem.
Do you see the M ↓A in the top left of the edit box? Click on that to hide the preview pane.
If you still get the error message, add #1 to the end of the URL.
