I’m sick. Nothing major, mind you…it appears to be a 24 hour bug that hopefully will flush through me soon enough. I felt really sleepy this afternoon, laid down…and woke up around 9 p.m. feeling like crap. I’ve got shivers, restless legs, and my head is spinning and feels like half its normal weight. I’d be in bed right now, except 1) I need to get some research done for the boss, and 2) the 4-hour nap messed up my sleep cycle.
And it’s summer! Why am I sick? The only time I EVER get sick is late December/early January, when my immune system always collapses after exams. My body typically goes into overdrive when I need to get something done, but after that, all my defenses drop.
So anyone who wants to join me in a sympathy post, post away. What ails ya right now? How’re you recovering?
Finally, somebody else to b*tch with! (I think fella bilong missus flodnak has heard enough of my wails…)
I have a sore mouth. It feels like a sore throat that missed. My tongue is sore, and the gums around my molars are sore. Nothing looks swollen, there’s no blood when I brush my teeth (it just hurts!), nothing seems out of the ordinary, except that it hurts. This sucks. I figure there’s a good chance I caught something on the plane home. I really should try some sort of immune system boost before I fly; I always seem to pick up something, no matter how careful I am.
Recovering from having my wisdom teeth out. Right now my mouth is incredibly swollen, making it difficult to talk. Luckily, the PKs prevent me from feeling any pain and I get to miss work.
First, let me start by telling everyone that has posted so far that I feel for your pain and wish you all rest & relief.
I have been suffering from lower back pain for several months now. My doctor’s office is telling me that it is my syatic (spelling??) nerve and I can’t sit, walk, lay down. There is no position that is comfortable (especially not for what you are thinking!) and all they want to do is shove more pills down me such as anti imflammnatories and valium but act like I am asking for gold when I request painkillers (which really only dull the pain but allows me to sleep some.) Now they want me to have physical therapy which will take several weeks to be approved by my sucky insurance company. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired and I get no sympathy from my husband who must think I am faking because I enjoy getting shots in my backside. He is just being a jerk about it. And I have been working at least 1 1/2 hours overtime everyday for months. Which could be alot of my problem. I am so glad I don’t have to get out of bed for the next two days.
Thanks for listening to my crying and bitching. I feel better already…
I have a condition called Poly-Cystic Ovarian Syndrome. It means that I ovulate very irregularly. I treat it with birth control pills - it might be a problem in the future, but for now it really doesn’t bother me.
I had my gallbladder out on Monday. They did it laproscopically, so it was a relatively small deal, as abdominal surgery goes. My belly is hurty, but I’m feeling okay, and recovery is moving right along.
Of course, the Percocet helps my state of mind considerably.
I have very severe endometriosis (stage 4), which is about as bad as it can get. I live with pain every day. And some days I definitely handle it better than others. Today is not one of those days!
To provide some background, i’m post-double lung transplant, so i’ve got medical issues out the arse. Currently, i have some kind of “infection” growing in several places in my lungs. They show up on CT as “nodules”. First, they did a small needle biopsy. Nothing resulted in cultures they tried to grow. Then, they did a VERY extensive bronchoscopy. They took samples from all over. Still waiting for word on what might have grown out of those cultures. If those don’t show anything positive… it’s time for an open lung biopsy. Thoracotamy time. Yay!! As for being sick? That’s debatable. I don’t have any symptoms of an infection. This leads the pulmonologists to think it might be fungal.
Not exactly sick, but tore some ligaments on the outside of my left leg and stretched the muscle or ligament on the inside of my leg. Hobbling around stiff-legged right now.
Went mountain biking and didn’t make it over a log fell sideways right on it with my upper body on one side and my knee smashed on the log, and my knee-to-foot on the other side of the log and my leg went TWANNGGGGGG!!! Damn that hurt! Physical therapy starts monday morning at 9am…
Maissoneuve fracture of the left leg. I’ve been in a cast since May 21st. Just had to have two screws in the ankle replaced Tuesday due to having had a stumble in June that popped the two original screws out of the bones.
Okay, so now do I not only have a 3 day old migraine, but the nausea has doubled in size and I can’t sleep because of it.
Pain killers aren’t helping doublepluspoutage
Well, I was feeling rather unwell at the beginning of the week, which was not a good thing, especially given that I was going to help look after a bunch of kids all week. I had a fever and the chills (at the same time), a sore throat, a headache, a stuffy nose, and a cough. However, it seems to be getting better.
