Who's watching the Emmys?

How are they going? Who’s won?

Current list of winners (CNN)

I just want to say that Jennifer Garner looks BEAUTIFUL. Aye.

And Heidi Klume (?)! She had a baby SIX days ago!

Gee, Everybody Loves Raymond won in it’s last season. Whooda thunk it?

I pumped my fist in the air when Lost won Best Drama. Yay!

I thought the production was pretty boring, but at least they brought it in close to on time. Who wrote Ellen’s stuff? Not Ellen.

Where’s Carol Burnett when you need her?

I was happy about the awards for The Daily Show, and the awards for Arrested Development (which I promise to start watching, now that it’s moved to Mondays), but disappointed that Ian McShane and Deadwood weren’t honored.

I like Lost as much as the next guy, but as drama, I don’t think it holds a candle to Deadwood.

I’m glad Lost won director and series, but dispointed that Terry O’Quinn didn’t win. Lost didn’t win writing either, but lost to “3 stories” episode of House, so that isn’t so bad.

Just making sure, that was Kristin “Veronica Mars” Bell doing “Fame”, right? Bring on the VM musical !(she did sing quite well in one episode)

Ther ARE words to the Star Trek song, so that was a bit of a ripoff. Though I am glad thay hd Bones and Scotty for the final screen.

Brian
(flipped btween Fox and Emmys except I skipped “War At Home”)

Brian

Sucked that Ian McShane was snubbed again.

So I’m supposed to believe that the cast of “Everybody Loves Raymond” is better than the cast of “Arrested Development”? And that ELR is funnier than AR AND “Scrubs”? That’s just such crap.

I’m glad that AR got a writing award, and that “Lost” & “the Daily Show” got a couple awards each, but ELR winning all those awards is just ridiculous.

I don’t know why I bother watching the Emmys. I get pissed off every single year.

According the the credits, she did.

Raymond wins. God, what a mistake.

You wouldn’t want to hear the words; I’m glad they didn’t use them. Also, wasn’t it interesting they showed Kirk and Uhura’s kiss?

Can anyone tell me quick, which won more, Lost or Desperate Housewives?

The wife and I have a bet on it.

*The Outstanding Guest Awards were awarded during the Creative Arts Awards, but the winners were mentioned and appeared during the Emmy Award ceremony, although it was stated that their win had already been announced. If you count this award, Desperate Housewives won 3 awards during the Emmy Award ceremony, although, as mentioned, one winner was already known in advance.

I’m happy for Arrested Development, James Spader, William Shatner, and that really great episode of House. Couldn’t care less about any of the other winners.

I’m glad Felicity Huffman won best comedy actress. She’s great. The other actress I like on the show is Eva Longoria because she makes the entirely unpleasant Gabrielle seem somehow sympathetic. Longoria wasn’t even nominated.

Highlights of the show for me
-Billy Crystal punchline to the Emmy Award memories opening montage
-Jon Stewart’s censor-enhanced “[Th]ank you” Katrina rant. “Oh, and George Bush doesn’t like blacks[abbath].”
-Blue Man Group’s reality show award introduction
-The comedy/variety writing award intros are always funny, since they’re produced by the staffs of the shows themselves. My favorite was that for the team of Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
-Ellen’s non-sequitur introduction of Patricia Arquette
-The various comments on the show by the cast of Family Guy

Now that I think about it, that should be “[Than]k you.”

“Why didn’t the mayor send out the buses! They were all talking about it! He could have just turned on his television and watched [Two And A Half Men Mondays on CBS!]”

Were the words sung during the TV series? In ANY of the trek TV series? No. Unless you want William to sing the words.

Best parts of the show:

Blue Man Group presenting Best Reality series.

S. Epatha Merkerson losing her speech down her bluse.

Hugh and Whoopi razzing on Ellen for missing her cue to introduce them. (‘We were going to say Ellen did a good job, but she missed introducing us, so she basically sucks.’)

I was laughing so hard at the Opera Star Trek that I fell off the bed. That was surreal!

Jon Stewart’s wife (Tracy?) is very cute! Another in the “I can’t believe they just had a baby!” camp.

Doris Roberts’ “Ray, I’ve been drunk since the wrap party” was an ad-lib, yes?

Arrested Development was robbed, but I can see the voters giving into the Raymond swan-song impulse.

Dang, I’m good. :pats self on back:
