Whose place of work is closing for Reagan's funeral?

So, who’s office is closing tomorrow (June 11)? (Federal government employees need not weigh in - we already know you get the day off).

Hit “Submit” instead of “Preview” dagnabbit.

We’re not. Small law firm, mostly federal court practice, and yet we’re not.

Killjoy.

To avoid the wrath of the Grammar Police, one of whom happens to be my wife, please amend the OP as follows: replace “who’s” with “whose.”

(She eats, shoots, and leaves, dontcha know? )

Private college. We’re not closing.

County level children’s services department here. Only “non-essential” employees need not show up, i.e., most of us need to be here.

I’m out of work tomorrow, I work at the library on a state campus.

Well, my place of employment is certainly not closing that I’m aware of. We can take off if we’d like, but being as I’m a temp and need the money, I’m not trying to not have a full paycheck.

I work at a state university, too, and I just had our secretary double check. We were told “We are not federal so no one will be given the day off.” Damn!

I work for the State of Mo, and I’m off.

I work at a private nonprofit that is very closely aligned with our government customer (essentially share office space with the USAF). Mgmt sent out an email saying that yes, we are working on Friday, and furthermore, the government computer networks would be up and running (as if to head off a potential weaseling opportunity).

State university here, and we’re off. Not the entire campus, mind you–things like health services, library, dorm staff, etc., have to work & get comp time. Since my husband works at a state agency he’s SUPPOSED to have the day off but their exec director ordered everyone to come in anyway. He’s mighty upset, let me tell ya. I plan to take the little Daxling into daycare and have a nice guilt-free day to myself for once

The company I’m temping at is closing. A large part of the business is stock trading, so with the stock market closed, the rest of the company is closing too.

Yup, we’re closed. Similar to **archergal’s[/] company, our business is mutual funds and brokerage. So we close when the markets do.

I work for a major brokerage firm. When we first heard that the NYSE was going to close on Friday, we all thought, “Yippee!” We have always (and only) closed when the stock market is closed. Tuesday the word comes down that The Firm will be indeed be open on Friday, since foreign and other markets will still be open. Late yesterday this was reversed. Scuttlebutt is that originally Personnel was set to authorize closing, but some Very Upper Management pointy-haired people came up with the foreign markets thing. Later, supposedly, someone pointed out that foreign markets are also open on American Independence Day and Washington’s Birthday, but that never stopped us from being closed before.

Additional grammar police checking in (are you feeling OK? This isn’t like you!). Also work at small law firm, with exclusively Federal practice. But our clients are all open, so we are, too. I plan to actually get some work done.

I work for the Federal Government, and we are working our normal schedule. But we do get holiday pay!

New York State government offices (one of which I work for) will be closing non-essential services.

I work for a small closely-held IT firm. We don’t even close for weather, let alone a state funeral.

So to respect Reagan, today I am wearing a US flag pin, with a black band across the middle.

What a waste of tax dollars. But then, I have zero respect for Reagan and think all this adulation is ridiculously misplaced.

We’re open, but I would be here in protest if we were closed.
