Why are glasses sexy?

And she’s got kitty pics

OK think fast she’s got a livejournal page let’s see she seems to be into knitting maybe that could be an ice breaker let’s google that googles knitting

So…

Um…

How are those stitches going?

Leaves

With, and those are some damn cool glasses.

Heck, why not? This is me with glasses, from last year when I had a better haircut.

Me, at work inna mah cave without glasses. (In this one, I’m supposed to be wearing a boatneck sweater, but it pulls weirdly because I’m holding the cameraphone up.)

Yum.

In your case, I vote for without… but you definitely don’t look bad in them.

Best pick-up line ever! I’m not sure my daddy would be comfortable with out and out selling me, but I think we could arrange an equitable trade. Like you finish the home theatre in the basement, and I’ll make you pancakes every morning. Or you show up with twenty goats, and we’ll see what we can work out.

Ha! Look who’s talking, woman with the pretty red hair and big blue eyes and kickin’ glasses.

You. You are not invited to the fake wedding with goats and home theatres. I like that hat! :stuck_out_tongue:

Peak Banana, the stitches are going fine.

To everyone else, thanks!

I think you’re on to something. If you’re wearing heavy enough frames, you could be pouring motor oil down a storm sewer, and people would stop and say, “Wow! That’s so smart! You must be a genius and have a perfectly sound reason to make a miniature Exxon Valdez on Main Street. Also, pretty people can do no wrong, so let me get you some more oil.”

I love my glasses because they give me credibility in other people’s eyes. It makes zero sense, but when you’re a curvy stripper type people automatically assume you aren’t very smart—BUT if you are wearing glasses it is the exact opposite. The glasses automatically add IQ points whether the wearer deserves them or not (in my case, I do deserve them  ). I do think it’s funny that every time someone sees me in glasses for the first time they say, “You look like a teacher!” (Or librarian…you get the gist.)

And a really old pic with: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b260/Andygirl1974/glasses2me.jpg

It’s funny, when I was 15 I remember fighting with my parents to get them to buy me contacts. I hated having to wear glasses SO much! I had little 15 year old tantrums about how ugly I felt. Haha.

Now that I pay the bills I realize how freakin’ expensive contacts are and I wear them very very rarely. So when I go out without my glasses now I feel like I’m missing something. It helps that I got a pair that I really like and feel good in.

Let the Dope judge:

Me with glasses .

Me without glasses. (most recently from my wedding )

Aww, thanks.

I used to wear contacts in high school, but got out of the habit because of how much time it took to screw with the things in the morning. Plus, they always seemed to dry out on my eyeballs. So glasses it is, since I’m also terrified of poor consequences from LASIK or whatever the latest vision correction surgery is. I only got two eyes!

You really are a funny man.
lizardling–with. You have the coolest frames!

Elysium–with, but damn, your wedding pictures are fantastic. You were a gorgeous bride!

RNATB–with, because, even though you look good without, the glasses definitely add a little…something.
Indygrrl–like Miss Purl, it doesn’t even matter.

**Asimovian ** and Miss Purl, thanks for the compliments. Asimovian, the best part of those glasses is the fact that they’re almost not there, they’re so invisible, and so light!

My glasses just make me look like a bigger nerd than I already am. I’ve worn glasses since 5th grade so I’m quite used to it. However, I wore contacts for a couple of years back in college and noticed some differences in reactions from new people. With the glasses on, they’re much quicker to say, “Hey, do ya mind taking a look at my computer?”

It’s not fair that they transform ladies into intellectual foxes!

Why thank you! I wish it wasn’t raining that day so we could have had better backdrops, but such is life.

Which is exactly why I’d lose them on the first day, but I’m glad they do you justice. I like my glasses to have just a little bit of heft so I can tell when they aren’t there! That, and I need to be able to see them when I drop them on the floor because I’m just that blind…

Since we’re asking for group opinions, your vote, please:

Option 1 - With glasses
Option 2 - Without glasses
Option 3 - Paper bag over head

I didn’t see option 4. Motorcycle helmet.

Glasses in public, because you look great in 'em. Glasses off and you can pretend (for a few blind moments) to do the Cliche Movie Prom Girl thing. You don’t look any prettier without them, just a different kind of pretty.

Asimovian, hands down, definitely without. You have absolutely gorgeous eyes!

blush You are very kind to say that, thank you! Unfortunately, this means I’m going to have to start a “Fund A Doper’s LASIK” thread because I refuse to wear contacts.

 Thanks! I went to like four different stores to find glasses that I could live with. Finally wound up going to Market Optical in Pike Place Market here on a wild hair with a friend and getting strongarmed into getting them. I’ve gotten bunches of compliments, which makes me appreciate them all the more.

Nah, don’t do that. Or if you do, get clear lenses put in those frames. That way you can still look all sexy-strong in your glasses.

I can never tell if I look better with or without glasses (or bad or less bad as I tend to not find myself very attractive sometimes). Anyway, here is a smattering of my face. I mean, a smattering of images. Oh just click and say nice things :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry for posting so many, but I feel that only two pictures doesn’t really give a good sample.
