why are threads like "copious amounts of ejaculate" so popular???

it seems a bit distasteful to me.

I don’t know, but guess there are many people with prurient interests. Sometimes when I skim topics, I don’t even click onto any. FWIW

Most valuable sports teams
Poker odds question
Guitars, value and diminishing returns

These are just three thread subjects on the General Questions first page at the moment.
They don’t really captivate the glancing eye do they? Words like ‘ejaculate’ make people pause because they are distasteful.
Enough said.

sure. it caught my eye too. but i did not feel the need to post in the thread , and now it’s so big i dont even feel the urge to read the damned thing.

Disclaimer: I am assuming this is a serious question.

I think it’s because a great deal of the questions asked here can be dealt with on other boards, or in real life fairly easily. Serious questions regarding copious ejaculate are more prone to a WTF? response elsewhere. Here on the SDMB, it (and countless similar subjects) are fair game.

Hence, it’s likely most folks either

A) are curious but haven’t been able to get the answe either or

B) They have the knowledge but have been unable to use it.

Either way, popular thread.

Theory number two. It’s sex. Who isn’t interested in that?

Moving this thread to IMHO forum.

How is sex distasteful? I think it’s fabulous.

And more specifically, what’s distasteful about copious amounts of ejaculate?

I once had a GF who ejaculated (copiously) at orgasm. I found it quite a turn-on.

I haven’t read the thread in question, but I’ll give the answer a shot anyway.

Some people don’t have anyone they can talk about that stuff with in real life. You can’t really go up to your boss and start asking them about it.

There are lots of topics I see that I don’t like, or gross me out, but thats just me. It doesn’t mean the other people here aren’t interested in the topic.

Plus, its just fun to say “copious amounts of ejaculate.”

Time to go find the “copious amounts of ejaculate” (hehefun) thread.
