I found myself wondering about this when I found that threads I had posted to at around 1:30 am got responses within an hour.
I’m awake in the middle of the night for one of a few reasons:
I’ve been sleeping all day, so now I’m up and being useful. I’m reading or posting to the SDMB while taking a break.
I’m anxious or overloaded with work and can’t sleep. So I’m on the SDMB, trying to relax for a bit or procrastinating. (That’s the case for me right now. Where I am, it’s 2:38 am.)
I’m in the lab, trying to take advantage of being able to work at odd hours in order to use whatever equipment I want. I’ve gotten a bunch of work done early, and now it’s time to kick back with the SDMB.
For everyone else who’s posted late at night–why are you up and on the SDMB at such an odd hour?
Mostly because I slept into one o’clock this afternoon. Sucks, because I have to work tommorow too. Oh well, five hours of sleep are enouh for anybody, I’m sure.
Don’t have class until 3 tomorrow (today)…yay Organic Chemistry!
Why am I awake? Don’t want to go to sleep. Anxious. If you’re going to find a decent music video on MTV it will be now. Can’t sleep. The Critic latenight on Comedy Central. Not done listening to music. Have to read. Studying.
Well, there’s 9 reasons for ya. Numerous others, but I don’t feel like listing them. Adios!
A blatant lack of self control, coupled with not having a mandatory lecture until 1:20 in the afternoon, coupled with the fact I woke up at noon today…
It has been about three months since I’ve gotten to bed before midnight!
