It’s cold and grey. Can’t the weather make up its mind? Please?
Last evening turned out to be glorious - sunshiny and warm, which was perfect for swilling a few beers and oogling a most delicious-looking waiter (I’m hitched, dammit, not blind).
Two days left to go on project. Two days. I’ll probably start hyperventilating when that sinks in.
Bobbio, here’s hoping the fire doesn’t come your way. Also, why does the Dismal Swamp sound like it’s the setting for a particularly unimaginative children’s bedtime story?.. what’s next, the Sunny Forest? Grassy Plain? (hmmm… we do have the Rocky Mountains, I suppose).
Mornin’ hmmm… how to welshify me…I don’t know if I’m welshifiable. mousey? Mousyy?
Manager is back today. :: cheers :: problems of yesterday solved. :: Yeahs ::
Laptop & ipod were unable to be delivered yesterday. Hawkeyeop told me to leave the permission slip for FedEx so that the building Super could sign for it even though the building Super was not findable to ask if he would in fact be home to sign for it. (I’m a bit worried about him. He always has the garbage out to the curb by the time we go to work on Thursday, but didn’t today. He and his wife are in their 70’s…I hope nothing is wrong.) If it isn’t recieved today, I may take off of work tomorrow to be home for my stuff.
Welcome back, BooFae! Sorry you’ve been sick; are you at least on the mend now, I hope?
Gee, the world hasn’t ended yet? I guess enough of us didn’t go be that nutcase’s wives. (You know, I really wonder about these guys who have a zillion wives. They either must have a chronic case of burned-out balls or else their wives are, er, entertaining themselves a lot, is all I can figure!)
I guess if I got Welshified I’d be Mama Tygyrr? Or something like that.
Papa Tigs was in a really, really cranky mood last night, and it made for a real struggle to get any work done. So I was up far, far later than I wanted to be getting the job done that I needed to get done before this a.m. I am, as a result, tired and cranky myself. Oh joy.
My big project for today (besides getting yet another pile of work done) is making sure everything’s ready to have the new washer & dryer delivered tomorrow. This means making sure there’s a big enough path through to the laundry room from the back door. Oh, goody.
In other news, the neverending new job saga continues. There is, apparently and unofficially, an offer forthcoming. Eventually. They’re just working through the million miles of red tape wrapped around my file.
Apparently, my home department are being a buncha whiners and don’t want to release me for four weeks because they need a trained monkey to do data entry and push some papers around, but in the absence of a monkey, they’ve decided to settle for me. AAAARRGH. So, on Monday, I’m dragging my ass back to my home department to do monkey work for Og knows how long. I could cry, I tell ya.
I wasn’t the one who asked, but thanks for letting us know anyway! That’s a *really *long trip. And a *reeeeeeeally *long time without The Guy.
Doggio, I see you’ve raised a little feline hockey fan. Cuuuuuuute!
Both Manager and Boss have birthdays this weekend so I’m going to bring in a cake on Monday. But I can’t decide what kind. Hmmm… something chocolate with layers so it looks all pretty. I think I have a recipe at home for one with strawberries, which would be good. Or I saw a mocha one online that might be nice. Decisions, decisions.
sure - play hooky. Get your new toys and play with them all afternoon.
Tell the boss it’s an unavoidable family situation. - it is - your family of gadgets is growing
Your FedEx guy must be related to the mailman, sorry - postal carrier, that was supposed to pick up a wee little package from our house yesterday.
I even had a confirmation number for the pickup, yet we got home last night, and the box was still sitting there on the front step. It’s not like he wasn’t already at the house to deliver mail!
Now, the package that we wanted in Rhode Island by Saturday won’t make it until next week. Regular service would have done it, if they picked it up, and it’s not worth paying for Express service. The package contents are barely worth the regular postage! Grrr…
