To say, “I am a conservative republican and I don’t like Hillary”, is purely redundant and doesn’t need to be said at all. I put such statements in the same catagory as, “I am a liberal democrat and I never liked Ronald Reagan”. Well, DUH! What is the point of making such an obvious statement, everyone knows that conservative republicans see nothing appealing in Hillary Clinton. OTOH if you were to say, “I am a conservative republican and I think Hillary is the best first lady of all time and I think she’d make a great senator”, now you’ve made a provacative statement that requires some elaboration and discussion.
SarumanRex:
Your last post simply proves my point about mindsets. Thank you, that was uncommonly generous.
I am politically confused, and have strong liberal conservative tendencies, with a slant toward moderate thinking, combined with respect for libertarian philosophy and a general understanding of (but not agreement with all of) Judeo-Christian beliefs, as well as Muslim beliefs. Am I qualified to comment?
Rex and Hilary should create their own state, then Rex can vote for Hilary every time an election comes up, and rejoice in his ample representation in his murder trials.
I, on the other hand, will never vote for that selfish bitch, no matter how many times she claims that it’s all “for the children”.
Go get a real job, Hilary, and find one for Rex.
Ah, it’s HER fault you hate her! That makes sense now!
Dear Kettle,
You’re black.
Love, Pot
Andros:

This is exactly the type of polarized, rabid, vapid, us versus them tribal empty mentality that Hillary! encourages.

Actually, that is quite right. I am glad you were able to pick it up. Your kettle and pot comparison though is quite wrong. If someone makes a statement that is closed minded and bigoted, is it to be accepted? Can I not challange that kind of attitude? Is it an act of bigotry to call the KKK bigots? Or is it only those who disagree with Hillary! that should be challanged?
Uh oh. ahem
I am a registered Republican, and I like Hillary.
Thank you.
Wow! That’s quite a chip on your shoulder there, jwg.
Ignoring your strawmen as irrelevant for the moment, I’ll just say that I find it very amusing to see someone decry “polarized, rabid, vapid, us versus them tribal empty mentality” in a rabid, us-versus-her, knee-jerk way.

What is it about Hillary that you like? I admire her strength, she is NOT one to mess with.
Well, let’s see. I don’t like her positions. I don’t like her ideas. But, damnit, from what I’ve read about her personally, she is very much like me. And I can’t not like someone who’s like me.
We sort of have the same view of the world, and deal with it much the same way. We just have completely different feelings about where we want the world to go.
And yes, she is a strong woman. I like strong women.
Andros:
I think we are starting to get off the “why I hate Hillary” path, but is calling an unreasonable statement unreasonable in and of itself unreasonable? If we were to follow your train of though, wouldn’t you be the skillet calling the pot black for calling the kettle black? Aren’t we going to run out of discolored kithcen utensils soon?
Getting into these discussions is in and of itself, another reason to hate Hillary!
