What is the reason or why do the smilies and tags not work for me?
They worked up untill a few days ago.
Post some and let’s see what the rest of us see. For smilies, make sure that “Disable smilies in text” isn’t checked. I don’t know if or where there is a similar setting for tags. AFAIK, tags are parsed automatically.
Manually entered links in IMHO post Habitat for Humanity work. Fonts, size, smilies don’t.
Disable Smilies box has never been checked, dot in Guided Mode.
Would cookies setting have any relation?
I just looked at that thread and both your links work fine. Try a couple smilies and tags in this thread, so I can see if they work at my end. It may be a browser issue on your end.

Tags are definitely working. The smilies appear to be a coding issue, however. Type the following exactly:
Incidentally, if you’re trying to use the Smilies box to the right of the Reply entry box, then it’s most likely a javascript issue. Which browser and version are you using?

You also miscoded a smiley here. Those aren’t the ones vB recognizes. You include the hyphen as the nose. Try the colon/parenthesis without the hyphen (or intervening space).
Browser is Netscape 7.1
May be the javascript issue. Didn’t make any changes on that score however. It may have been replaced by something else or corrupted.

You won’t see the smilies while you’re typing. You’ll only see them on preview or posting. While you’re actually typing your response, you’ll just see :'s and )'s and such.
