Why does SDMB load SO SLOW?

I have broad-band, yet SMDB loads very slow, and often fails. No other site I frequent behaves that way.

Is that what other people experience? is there something I can do?

There are tons and tons of threads on this subject over at ATMB, aka_10003. It’s mainly down to the popularity of the site, versus the capacity of the hamsters to spin th’ little wheels.

I swear, I think ~20% of the problem is all the people asking about it.

I’m closing this and referring people to any of the dozens and dozens of threads on this subject in About This Message Board.
