Why don't they have X in Y flavor?

I guess you’ll have to go with butter topping and add it to the melted butter. Buttered chicken popcorn. Ummm. Don’t forget the bacon bits.

O, wow. Thanks for the link!
I was wondering last night why there’s no pork-flavored cat foods.

You report back, or we’ll force feed you the chicken-flavored popcorn from Petsmart!

Heston minus 2 days and counting.

Excited. Beyond all reason.

Some things are better left un-explored. A number of years ago the Dum-Dums lollipop company manufactured a popcorn-flavored lollipo. It was the most vile thing I have ever tasted. Imagine expecting a spoonful of sugar and getting a spoonful of lard.

Well, housecats don’t eat pigs. The real question is, why isn’t there mouse or songbird flavored cat food?

Why aren’t there protein bars in pizza or nacho flavors - or any flavor that’s not supposed to be sweet?

Jelymag, what’s your take on the Jelly Belly popcorn flavor?

I’m not Jelymag, but I love the popcorn flavor. And the black pepper flavor!

Lard Dum-Dums are pretty unappealing, I have to admit.

Out of stock, but they do exist.

Thanks! But…they put anise in it? Ugh!

That was actually dealt with in a column (which I’m not goint to hunt down and link to). The basic answer is that processed pet foods tend to be made from leftover parts from processing plants that make people food.

When mice and songbirds become popular people foods around these parts, I’m sure there will be cat foods made from the mouse and songbird parts that people don’t care for.

I made a concord grape ice cream this past summer, great flavor and gorgeous color. My little nephew practically inhaled it.

My kitty goes cuckoonuts for pork ribs. Once she tried to climb the dining room table to get some.

Not that long ago, I was musing on how good pancakes and syrup ice cream would be. It makes sense – mushed-up pancakes in vanilla ice cream with a maple syrup ribbon.

Haven’t had it. I’m moderately curious, but very afraid. Do they have a strong buttery flavor? I think that is what repelled me with regard to the lollipop.

Heston tomorrow.

I’m doing the 17 course taster menu. It takes around 4 hours.

Wish me luck.

I will report back.

OMG nom nom nom.

They’ve always tasted like very sweet popcorn to me…like not-quite-right kettle corn. I don’t remember any excessive butteriness. I’ve never tasted a buttered popcorn lollipop – I’m guessing the butter flavor clings to/coats your mouth?

Why are “pizza-flavored” chips/snacks always cheese pizza? Not a hint of meat flavor anywhere! I’d love to have “Meat-Lover’s Pizza” potato chips or Doritos.

Also, I’d love for a US snackfood company to sell bacon-flavored potato chips. Why should the Canadians have all the fun?

There’s a brand carried here up at the market that has pepperoni pizza potato chips. They are extremely strong. I find them overpowering. And bright red!

Combos had a pepperoni pizza flavor a long time ago. Man, are those things still around? Disgusting, but my Jr. High tastebuds were all aquiver!
