Why don't they have X in Y flavor?

Would lobster or clam-flavored ice cream have a market?

Crest Pro-Health has a cinnamon flavor.

Yeah, I still see them in convenience stores, at least in the northeastern USA. I got some just this past weekend.

I think there was a thread here awhile back about grape ice cream and the answer seemed to be grape and grape juice were rather neutral flavours. Indeed you can see grape juice as a sweetner in many juices like peach juice and pear juice.

So to make grape flavoured ice cream you’d have to use artificial flavour to get the grape taste people would want.

If you go online you can often find offbeat products. Companies constantly test different products but there also is the concept of too much. Studies show when consumers have too many choices they get frustrated and may buy other things.

In othere words if you have 6 kinds of potato chips it’s fine, but if you add two or three more kinds consumers get frustrated and will choose pretzels or cheetos or nuts or some other kind of snack.

So THAT’S what that is supposed to be. I thought it was supposed to be a off-beat licorise
(sp? Lickorish L)

Oh my God! That would be amazing!

The one I have never understood is why no chocolate yogurt? People like chocolate frozen yogurt, and vanilla yogurt is everywhere, so why no chocolate? I vaguely remember it being around briefly years ago, and loving it, but aside from various short-lived “dessert” yogurts like black forest, or fruit flavoured yogurt with chocolate shavings in it, no plain chocolate yogurt. And I want some!!

Mrs. Chef thinks the popcorn Jelly Bellies are Satan’s boogers. She ate one by accident not long ago and I seriously thought she was going to sprint to the bathroom and barf.

I can take 'em or leave 'em. Now, the black pepper ones… om nom NOM, baby. If there was a way to get a big bag of just that flavor, I would be all over it. I’ve checked the website and it doesn’t look like they’re available that way, though. Sigh.

Their Whitening Expressions line used to have a lemon flavor that I LOVED. Of course, they discontinued it. Chef Jr. uses the vanilla mint flavor, which tastes like cupcake frosting to me.

What about getting some vanilla yogurt and putting some chocolate syrup in it?

Exactly! I think the only time I had them was when my husband decided to try the Bertie Botts packages.

Why not use chicken salt on the popcorn? Maybe not chickeny enough.

We can buy a whipped yogurt at Schnucks that’s chocolate.

Yes, the butter flavor was so immediately overwhelming that I felt like my mouth should be greasy, but I was also getting the sugar of the candy, so it was pretty bad to me. Maybe if I could have hung in there past the butter flavor I would have tasted sweet popcorn (I love caramel popcorn actually) then it might have been okay.

Brown Cow makes a yogurt with chocolate on the bottom. It’s quite good. I think Stonyfield Farms has a version too.

A friend of mine makes Bacon ice cream along these lines, vanilla as a base with maple syrup and small bits of crunchy bacon, its good stuff.
