So, yesterday I found out that a group of people who I thought were my friends obviously aren’t. Today I found out that Dave’s family might not be able to make it to the event that I’m going to next weekend. And I totally don’t blame them because if you have to work, you have to work. But I am just disappointed and totally bummed because he was supposed to be there with me. And I’m tired because I had to get up early this morning and I’ve been sitting here crying for the last 30 minutes. But I have to go to a baby shower soon and attempt to look happy but I’d just rather stay home and take a nap.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled happy MMP.
har har Sticks and Sconeshugs I hope you feel better soon. Don’t let the babay shower get you down. Just laugh silently in your head at how much work the soon to be mom is going to have after the little peanut is born and how all of her friends are probably also going to disappear right after she has it , because no body wants to hang out with a frazzled new mom and her crying newborn. Schadenfreude for the win!
Dang, I’m checking in late!!! Been a busy day. We went to breakfast, then Lowe’s for some boat-trailer-fixin’ supplies. When we got home, I started a load of laundry and vacuumed all the common areas. FCD was working on the trailer. He needed some hardware and I needed to get some pics of some of my fingerless mitts, so I headed to Leonardtown via the little store, where they happened to be having their Grand Opening. The mitts are selling, so yay! And my cousin wants me to make her a pair, which is why I needed pics to show her what styles I made.
Once I got home, our daughter was here, and she and I set about cleaning out the Snipe - the little boat that goes on the trailer **FCD **was fixing. We scooped out a bunch of hardware for the boat - fortunately, it was all stainless steel, so yay for that. We also scooped out sand paper, leaves, tadpoles, and miscellaneous crap that had accumulated for the last 3 years. The three of us muscled the boat on to the trailer, then pulled it out to the driveway where we pressure washed the worst of the crud off it.
Once upon a time, we were going to fix it up and sell it. I asked a former coworker if he wanted it - he was planning to build one for his kids anyway. Turns out he works with a Boy Scout group that sails a lot, so I just emailed him and said we’d donate the boat and trailer as-is to the scouts if we got a receipt for tax purposes. Most of what has to be done is well within the ability of boys with some adult supervision. So we’ll see what he says.
After we finished futzing with the boat, we all went to Red Robin for a late lunch. Daughter is now gone home, **FCD **is crashed on the couch, and I’m finally able to have some computer time. The balance of the night will be for knitting.
The sky is fallin’! I just looked outside and saw it happenin’. RUN!!!
Burgers for dindin. Not overpriced burgers from Dead Robin like somebody else had :p, but good ol’ home grilled burgers. With bacon and cheese even! Now that’s worth sayin’ “YUM!” about.
Okay - Sad to see the Ponds go, but not as devastated by their leaving as the hype led me to believe I’d be.
I won’t reveal any spoilers here, so meet me on facebook if you want to discuss it.
Yeah, well I got upset with him because I just called him 10 minutes ago to ask him where he was and when he was going to get home and he said they were getting feedback from the judges at his barbershop chorus competition. I ask when that started, and he said 11:00, and I was like but it is after midnight. And he said, I told you I would probably not be home until after 1:30. I was upset because I had bit my tongue the last two days and not said a word about how much I missed him and wished he was home and all I did was encourage him and congratulate him, and he tells me he isn’t going to listen to me being upset right now and hangs up the phone on me.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and cafienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 71 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of only 80 and rain. It did rain last night and looks rainyish out right now, so yay hopefully all day and night.
Instead of makin’ a brekkie type item, I opted to buy some cheese Danish. Publix makes better cheese Danish than I ever could, especially since I have never and will probably never make cheese Danish. Besides, hey, cheese Danish! Cheese Danish is fun to type.
{{{Apes}}} Sounds like a probably tired DH who misses you too. I’m sure y’all will make up nice.
Now I need more caffiene and should probably feed rumbly tummy a little sump’n. Wouldn’t want me growlin’ at the Lutherans, now would we? Purtification for deheathenization must also commence soonish. OYKW told me last night he believes he will opt not to deheathenate today. That’s ok, I kinda like him when he’s a little bit of a heathen.
brrrrrrrrr! Chilly morning here: 52° outside and 66° in the house. I woke up in the wee hours and had to get an afghan, and Taz plastered himself to me to steal what little residual body heat I produced. **FCD **is still crashed - he overdid yesterday and his back was bothering him so he took a muscle relaxer - those things knock him out!
We just rehomed 2 more boats! We have 2 small sailboats in the yard - a Laser that we bought our daughter about 16 years ago that she sailed exactly once, and a Snipe that we bought for her when she was still married - she was going to teach her idiot ex-spouse how to sail, but first, they had to fix it up. Well the fixup started but never ended. So yesterday, we pressure washed it, put it on the newly fixed trailer, and gathered all its bits together - all the miscellaneous parts we’d bought to fix it. I emailed a friend about them last week, and again yesterday, and he’s taking them both. He’s buying the Laser for himself and we’re donating the Snipe to the scouts thru him. I just need to get into the shed and find the sails for both boats.
Other than that, today’s plans include a trip to the convenience center, another to the marina to get the boarding steps that are still screwed to our slip, then I have at least 2 loads of laundry to do, and I’d like to get a little studio time - I have 6 pieces that need to be finished, and I’m going to make some penguin-shaped spoon rests.
But until **FCD **rises, I’m surfing. Happy Sunday!!
Good morning, all! Have made Mom’s oatmeal (need to add the recipe to the blog; it’s yummy) for breakfast and am gearing up to go outside to continue the cleaning and painting of the foundation. It takes for-freakin’-ever. (Did 5 hours or so yesterday and have at least 3 hours of cleaning and scraping to go). Painting is at least less tedious.
Morning! Been up for while as mr ems had to work this morning.
Worked out been for coffee got the sheets from our bed washed and in the dryer. Now I just I have to pack for my trip to Houston this week for a training class.
On the plus side we have had rain all weekend so the burn ban is removed. And I got out my winter clothes yesterday and washed and dried them all. They are folded and ready to pack next weekend for my trip home on the 10th to the UK for friends wedding. Very excited. Happy Sunday!
