Why is Hillary so loved?

A completely serious counterpoint to the other thread:

Since that one in this forum I followed suit.

For those of you who are devoted Hillary supporters, why do feel that way? What the specific factors that create that support?

Where is there any evidence that she is loved? I just find her to be better than Trump, flawed as she may be.

Me too. To paraphrase Uncle Fester: “Let’s not get mushy. I like you, Hillary, but I don’t love ya.” I just found her to be more experienced and capable than Trump. She didn’t need to be charming.

I not refering to all voters. The "better than Trump"voterd wasn’t what i meant to refer to.I should have been clearer I’m defining loved as the people who who made her a nominee in 16, and almost in 12

People are moved more by hate and fear than by love. Hate trumps love.

I voted for her not out of love, but because her positions on the issues are closer to mine than her opponent.

I don’t know about love, but she has an incredibly impressive record of working for the benefit of the american people and I was really excited at the possibility of someone with that level of caring and nerdiness being president.

I don’t “love” her, but on a matter of principle I tend to avoid any candidate [Trump] that tries to smear or incite hate against their opponent. The moment you attack a person’s character instead of their policies is the moment I stop listening.

Maybe that’s closed minded though.

She inspires a lot of women to break glass ceilings. A lot of people loved the idea of voting for the first woman president. And people still have warm feelings for the Bill Clinton years in the 90s. Also, she’s a liberal Democrat.

Not the best reasons to “love” a public persona, but not the worst either.

She’s a badass bitch who doesn’t take shit. She’s a lifelong politician who has been doing what she feels is right for 30 years. She gets things done even though she has the “handicap” of being a woman. She also has excellent hair.

Who thought Margaret Thatcher and Angela Merkel were charming? Although, people like Marie le Pen and Jennifer Granholme certainly have an electability head start.

Except from her husband.

I love her as much as I can love any politician. She’s a smart, ambitious woman. She puts getting useful stuff done ahead of ideology. If more people were like her, this country would be a much better place.

Her husband cheating makes her less of a badass bitch how…?

Ah, I see. Sexism.

Because of the way she handled it. If she was bad, she would have kicked his ass to the curb. It is a phony manipulative relationship that kinda defines who she is. Not that there arend oodles of others out there just like her. She had to live her life in the public eye.

I wouldn’t say I love her. I disagree with a number of her policies. However, as a person, I find her very admirable. She is extremely intelligent and unbelievably hard-working. She cares about the data and evidence that inform policy decisions. She has consistently worked for things that would help women and families. She has been under fire from all of the right wing for at least 25 years and has managed to maintain her composure to an admirable degree. Her performance during the debates was nothing short of amazing. Her passionate defense of women’s rights to make decisions about their own bodies in the third debate made me cry honest-to-god tears of joy.

I was thrilled to vote for her, despite the fact that her hawkish tendencies are not awesome.

She has a decades-long fight to use the power of her office, her stature, and government to make the country and the world a better place for everyone. She has an impressive combination of big-picture dreams and fine-detail focus. She’s willing to comprise but has a mean streak. Up-close witness to the federal executive. What’s not to love?

She was qualified and already had a recognizable name. Plus, she was a woman, which had a cool factor to it.

Yes. Bill is a sleazebag with a documented record of womanizing. She’s stayed with said sleazebag for decades. I don’t know exactly why she has made that decision, but no truly badass bitch would deal with that shit.

Ah, I see. Sexism.
