Why is it a good idea to reprise Battlestar Galactica?

"Better than Firefly" ? Did you say BETTER THAN FIREFLY???

I am stunned.

‘Meet The Press’ on a Bad Day was better than ‘Firefly’. ‘Firefly’ was a draw against ‘The Morning Farm Report’. Not to say it doesn’t have its uses: It works better than Sominex and without a perscription…

I’m curious what you disliked about Firefly. I thought the cowboy stuff sucked, but it had some thin excuse and it was outweighed by the series obeying the laws of physucs…except that damn rifle “needing air around it to fire”.

Oh, come on, Firefly was lame-ass from the gitgo. Cowboys in space indeed.

I thought Firefly was fantastic. The thing about Firefly was it was still finding it’s feet . The first few episodes were abit ropey about the whole ‘cowboy’ feel but i thought it was rapidly getting the kinks out.The whole concept of people on Frontier worlds being reduced to 19th centurey technology seems perfectly reasonable to me. After all a horse can make more horses , a tractor can’t. And they only did this around the Frontier. When they went to the core worlds it was all super hi-tech.

Yeah, but how much to zippers cost to haul around? One would still expect cell phones or their equivalent. You could haul ICs to a frontier world but maybe not tractors and power generators. I’d have been able to handle it better with non-ray guns, but not black powder replicas, futuristic looking clothing made from cotton (the Conquistadors when their clothes wore out made pantaloons out of deer skin) and wooden cell phone towers run by solar power.

I have to admit that we were lucky it ended before he wrote “Firefly, the Musical” or River’s Strange Powers began to play to much of a part.

I’ll miss it.

Honestly, I thought Firefly kicked ass for the sole reason that it didn’t look like Star Trek or Star Wars. Most of the heated criticism of the series I’ve heard is from people with Vulcan ears in their closet.
