Why No McDonalds Milkshakes in Paraguay?

From the Wikipedia

Why?

 I dunno, but I hope someone answers this. I have to go away until tomorrow a.m. and this question will be haunting me until then…

The llama-milk shake just didn’t go over well.

what do they wash down their McGuineaPig burgers with?

I think the [sup][citation needed][/sup] is all you need to know.

Actually I put the [citation needed] before I asked this

The taste made you want to yak.

They don’t serve milkshakes in Paraguay. They serve partially gelatinated non-dairy gum-based beverages.

We have no milkshakes in Saudi Arabia either.

They need to introduce a yerba mate iced frappe to appeal to local palates.

If that goes over, on to the rancid yak butter tea iced frappe in Mongolia. Then to Oceania, for kava-spit slurpies!

Kava-spit slurpie? I did that once, but only because we both very drunk.

The milkshakes are the best thing about McDonald’s!

I’m not saying they’re not eaten in Paraguay, but I think you’re thinking of Peru. And for that matter, aren’t llamas associated with the Andes e.g. not Paraguay as well.

Pedant away!

Years ago I remember one in Georgia (USA) that did not serve them. Never did figure out why.

There is a McDonald’s in Sofia, Bulgaria that apparently does not serve Big Macs. I cannot personally verify this, because I am a vegetarian and I dislike McDonald’s, but the Lonely Planet Bulgaria makes a reference to it in their “places to eat in Sofia” section, and I once met some friends in front of that McDonald’s and they mentioned how they don’t have Big Macs there.

If you know Sofia, I’m talking about the McDonald’s at the book bazaar.

I knew someone would quibble about that. To paraphrase Cecil in defending his “if ignorance were corn flakes” joke: llamas = funny, guanacos (which they have in Paraguay) = not funny. Maybe I should have said capybara milk.

If you can find a McDonald’s that serves milkshakes in the US, you are in luck. I very rarely come across one that sells them. They have the machines, and they are listed, they just don’t bother to have them up and running. Fries and shakes are the only food they sell that’s better than the competition. And I’m not going out of my way for the fries.

The answer may be in this Chicago Tribune article, but apparently the cheapos at the Tribune won’t let you see it without paying them money first: MCDONALD'S OPENS IN PARAGUAY (“McDonald’s Opens in Paraguay”).

I actually have access to this, and that article you linked to IS the whole article. It’s just a blip in the paper

I don’t know, but a Guatemalan friend was just complaining that they have recently phased out milkshakes there too.

Because the blue oranges are ripe in Valencia!

Well?

Come on, give me the microfilm already! This op will be compromised by 0300 hours!
