Actually, I recall a study some years back that showed that lesbians are more visually oriented sexually than other women. Still not as much so as men, however.
Most of the guys I’ve seen in porn tend to be rather… average looking. In short, I’d say Ron Jeremy is indeed about standard for guys in the porn industry. Maybe the lower end, physique-wise, but really, a decent percentage of guys buying porn will be overweight, and might find some sort of appeal in a larger gentleman (not entirely unlike them) getting to bang the hotties, if you will.

Most “amateur lesbian porn” that I’ve seen is bi girls performing for money, boyfriends, etc. There are many reasons why true lesbian porn isn’t very common.
First, you have to find lesbians that are in a relationship or who know other lesbians they wouldn’t mind boinking. Then you gotta get both of those lesbians to agree to perform sex on camera and then to distribute the tapes for others to view. Lesbians are less likely to release the tapes into the general market because they don’t get as much out of it. Males are the primary consumers of visual porn in this society and what reason would a pair of lesbians have for making men happy? I know lesbians who make porn and show it to their friends but do not distribute it for this very reason.
In our society, men are more visual than women, and I say this as a very visual woman who has lots of female friends into porn. This could be biological or sociological. Our society is very sex negative towards female sexuality and non-visual porn is seen as less “dirty” than visual porn. A graphic sex novel is considered less sexual than a graphic sex video, even if the sex novel was a very descriptive account of what happened in the video. Since fewer women are looking at porn compared to men, fewer women are making it. I believe that this effect is sociological and that more women will view and make porn in the upcoming years.

To attempt to answer the OP, I think it’s a numbers thing. Inserting the random statistic I heard somewhere that 5% of the population is gay, cut that in half and about 2.5% are lesbians. Of those, the few that are going to be interested in making amateur pornography have a very small chance of popping up on your radar.
