I agree pretty much across the board.

I also think it’s a damn shame that there isn’t more acknowledgment for the fact that what these dancers do takes incredible work and dedication, it is extraordinarily difficult to do, even when you have a natural gift you need to train like hell to get good enough to make it to the top 20, learning 2-5 complex dance routines every 7 days for weeks involves jaw-droppingly long hours of rehearsal involving lots of pain, and in the end, even the most successful dance winner would be lucky to see 10% of the money that an AI LOSER can make.

All of which makes the dance contestants a thousand times more impressive than anyone that’s ever been on AI except for possibly Adam Lambert, who has spent his young life busting his ass like a dancer does - and it shows.

I mentioned this somewhere else lately, but I’ve decided to embrace it because it is evidence of the fact that the dance world is so much more…real. For the reasons I just wrote (and I see someone else had said right before me) - dancers are serious. They are artists. They are motivated by pure love of what they do. Singers? A whole lot more people are motivated by money and fame.
