Whenever I type in Gmail in the Firefox browser, it always says Firefox cannot make a connection to the server. Why does it say that? Is there any way I can remedy it? (I’d doubt it.)
Are you sure Firefox is the problem?
Have you test it with a different browser?
Yes, Internet Explorer will let me do it just fine. The reason I ask about Firefox is that my Internet Explorer is down, so I have to post and all that stuff from Firefox.
Firefox does not send me to gmail unless I type gmail.com in the address bar. My guess is that your internet explorer was set to autoforward to the top search result and firefox is not. Can you get to gmail if you type www.gmail.com into the address bar?
Never had a problem with Firefox/Gmail on a whole variety of computers and operating systems but I do ues different browsers to access different accounts at the same time.
Try Maxthon as an alternative.
Firefox takes me to gmail with this url: http://mail.google.com/mail/

What do you mean by “Internet Explorer is down”? Perhaps there is a common cause for both problems.
Nothing’s working!
Your connection is obviously working. Has somebody else maybe been using your computer? If so, just wipe cookies and login from scratch.
