I’ve noticed that the password dialog doesn’t appear with certain sites like Yahoo! and this one (SDMB). Anyone have a clue as to why?
Thanks,
Adam

Some sites use an attribute in the HTML Form tag to set the autocomplete off. They do this for your security - my bank does it as well. With Firefox, there is a bookmarklet to override that feature on a one-time basis. You can get the bookmarklet here.
To use it, for example with my bank site, I go to the page where I log in, then in my bookmarks I select the “remember password” one as if it were a URL, and then I see a box that tells me it ran (I’m still at my bank login page). Then I enter my account number and password, hit Submit, and the normal prompt appears to have Firefox remember the password.
This is great! Thanks!
Is it legal…?

I find this extension a little easier to use than the bookmarklet.
