Firefox (mac) Secure Logins

I have a password protected website which I access very frequently (its called Easynews and its god’s gift to downloaders…check it out!) and I was hoping to simplify my life a little by configuring Firefox in such a way that it automatically logs into a specific, password-protected part of the site (the search interface) when I click on a bookmark (which happens to be located in on the front ‘toolbar’ thats always visible). The annoying problem I run into is that no matter how I configure the address (i.e. even if I make the bookmark Http://myusername:mypass@easynews.com/searchinterface ) firefox still pops up an annoying dialog asking me if I’m sure I want to log into the site using that information. Oddly enough, the PC version of firefox does not appear to do this once I’ve told it to remember the password. But I’ve encountered this nuisance on a number of Macs with a number of different versions of firefox. Does anyone know how I can make it (so to speak) so that upon clicking the bookmark I am sent directly to the desired address without any annoying dialogs?

Its worth noting that I am not typically using the SSL version of the site, so its not a matter of turning off the encryption notification or whatever, its something more subtle.

cheers.
