Wierdest or Scariest Music Videos?

Okay, I didn’t know that, although I’d say “the video doesn’t make the distinction clear” is an understatement. The mannequins representing kids are daubed with blood, and if memory serves me correctly, the part where the kid walks to the front of the class resembles a scene in “The Basketball Diaries” where Leonardo DiCaprio’s character whips out a gun in a classroom and blazes away.

And of course, it’s not any less disturbing if the kid merely commits suiciede. But now I get the song a little more. “Jeremy spoke in class today” means Jeremy’s first and last statement was his own death.

Can’t beleive no one has mentioned the Floyd’s Welcome to the Machine. Scary imagery = the second (main) musical interlude, with the still image of a skeleton, with the music that continues to play with no motion from the video. However, as you continue to watch you realize that the skeleton is slowly decaying, breaking, and turning into dust
I mentioned this the last time this thread came up, and no one agreed with me. I have to ask, has no one SEEN this? While not as revulsive (is that a word?) as a lot of the videos mentioned, it’s a lot more chilling IMHO.

I see Mr. Blue Sky beat me to the Tool “meat-pipe” video. Another good one IIRC was the Ramones, but I forget what song. A guy is in a mental hospital; they cut his head open and a monster pops out of his head. Really more funny than scary, but definitely creepy.

I believe the word is “revolting”.

I believe the word is “revolting”.

I can spell, but I can’t code worth a damn.

I’ve never understood the confusion there. The kids are very obviously SPLATTERED with blood, not bleeding. You don’t get shot by a gun of that caliber and not have holes in your shirt where the supposed bleeding is or be blown backwards a bit.

I’ve seen it, and I love it.
I know the part you mentioned, but you have it wrong. I’ll describe what happens there:
The video is animated by Gerald Scarfe, who also animated the wall.

Anyway, in that part the camera pans to an open field type where there nothing but a few buildings on the horizon. One of them stretches out huge and moves around, then turns into a monster and back into a building. It stretches back, then whips to the side. The camera pans to follow it, revealing a man standing there (his sudden appearance startled me the first time I saw it). The building whips forward and cuts his head off. Then it follows it to the ground and you get to watch it slowly decay into a skull, and then into dust.

If I can add one more thing about Jeremy:
It was written in reference to this incident: http://www.fivehorizons.com/songs/aug99/jeremy_article.shtml

Definitely a suicide, although if you just watch the video and don’t really pay attention to the songs, I can see how one would assume it was about a columbine type thing.
Anyhow, for weird videos, I’ll have to second Tom Petty’s “Mary Jane’s Last Dance” and “Don’t Come Around Here No More” (The part where she’s a cake and they’re slicing her up, especially.) I know these have already been mentioned, along with most of the others I was going to mention. I can’t actually think of any others right off hand, though.

A few from Japanese bands.

Dir en Grey, Child Prey: It’s… positively inexplicable. Miniature band members fly little space fighters and battle with mice in space fighters (occasionally around the full sized band)…exploding mouse heads… It’s…very strange.

Malice Mizer, Beast of Blood: Rather straightforward ‘stylish-spooky’ video, save for a) some strangely unsettling morphing of a little girl’s face (if you’ve seen the video for Black Hole Sun, you know the sort of thing) and b) an extended scene of a boy who’s been used in some of the ‘spooky’ parts, licking his lips while the screen goes from pure white (with the boys face outlined in black and grey), which is also vaguely unsettling.

Bugger. I forgot Pink Floyd’s The Wall: kids in meat-grinders gave me the fear as a young’un.

I have a vague memory from about twelve years ago of a video called something like “Mr. Crinkle” or “Mr. Tinker”. There was this large pig-like being singing and cavorting in the foreground, as all these circus kind of people and creatures walked steadily past in the far, dim background. Ring any bells?

Also, Lou Reed ripping his face off.

I can’t believe im the first to say Devo’s Jocko Homo

still scares the crap outta me
…the guys dance…

the general weirdness

blah!
scared now.

I don’t remember the artist, but I’ll describe the video. The video starts out with a beefy guy dancing with some girls. A little later on he rips off his skin to show his muscles. He keeps ripping off parts of his body until he’s just a dancing skeleton. Probably the weirdest part is that the music for the video is up-beat and doesn’t reflect the weirdness of the video. I thought it was disturbing but it didn’t freak me out.

That would be the Robbie Williams, Rock DJ video.

Yes, it’s “Mr. Krinkle” by Primus off their Pork Soda album.

The guy in the pig suit is their frontman, Les Claypool.
