Wildest Bill Yet AGAIN!!!!

Uh,correct me if I’m wrong Bill, but isn’t that the basis for the Catholic Church? You do realize that Catholics are Christian right?

Perhaps, Bill. Perhaps we should all take Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

But who are you to tell us that? You’re an arrogant, insulting person, with a very small understanding of the faith you continually use as a defense.

There is also the distinct possibility that you’re wrong. Is it not possible that God as an entity exists in your own mind? Can you prove conclusively that God exists? If not, then maybe you should ease up on the rhetoric towards atheists. You don’t have to agree, but you do have to accept that people believe in different things, and not everyone thinks that you are correct.

Could you at least ponder that for a little while before you say anything else?

Given the evidence of your previous posts, I doubt you even understood a word I’ve said to you right now. Why do I waste my time?

YEah, but to Bill we’re nothing but “Mary Freaks”…

No. I believe some Christians are Catholic but not all Catholics are Christians. This is the same for every religion. There is only one way to be a Christians and that believing Christ died for your sins then rose from the grave three days later victorious over death which no other religious leader has EVER done. Budda dead. Mohammad dead.

I have seen absolutely zero evidence of this on this message board.

Bill, frankly, most of us couldn’t care less about your religious preferences, but since you insist on flaunting it in our faces and shoving it down our throats, we’re going to hold you to it. (Anybody else find this creepily familiar?)

A. Nanny-nanny poo-poo right back at’cha, dumbfuck.

B. Christianity - been there, done that. Reason won.

C. Christianity is not the largest religion in the world, so by your ever-so-clever counter-logic, maybe you should convert to Islam.

Esprix

Quin,

You still have not answered my questions. I simple yes or no would work.

I think you’ll find that’s pretty central to Catholic theology too, Bill. You want justification to argue that Catholics aren’t Christians, you’ll have to do better than that.

As for this:

The WTC terrorists are using violence to try to impose their own version of morality, too. I repeat my earlier question: what’s the difference?

Honestly? Right now, I don’t know.

I believe in his message, but I don’t know…I do think Christ was the son of God, or at least SENT by God, whether I believe that he rose from the dead, or was conceived by God, not Joseph…I don’t know. I can’t say.

Thank you. I got to go but I really appreciate the honest answer. I will talk to you again tomorrow.

ruadh,

I thought I did answer your question. I think it is on this thread. I know it is a little long now but I think it is on page 2 or 3. If I didn’t answer it to your liking please tell me and I will try again tomorrow.

In case you didn’t notice, sparky, I quoted your reply. I think you can take that as an indication that I read it and it doesn’t answer my question.

I wasn’t going to get involved with this, but this just always pisses me off.

Oh, for the love of…

There were no moral good old days. Read the book Intimate Matters: A History of Sexuality in America by John D’Emilio and Estelle B. Freedman. Just a quote from page 63:

And that’s not counting all the women who used herbal remedies that had been passed down through oral traditions for centuries. Legal abortion is not new, it just made a comeback. So blame the downfall of civilization on something else.

Ok, Bill. Guin answered your questions, and so will I. But I want an answer back from you:
In order:
Am I a sinner: Yes,
Do I belive Christ died for my sins: No
Is the only way to Heaven through him?: No
Do I believe that or not?: No, I don’t.

I’m Jewish. One of God’s Chosen People, by your teachings as well as traditional Jewish teachings. As far as you know, where am I heading after I die? I don’t believe in Christ at all (maybe as a teacher, certainly not as a “Messiah” in the sense that you mean.) so I don’t get in. No Jews do. But that means that God tosses his Chosen People into Hell. What kind of “Chosen People” is that? If I do get in, then what about the “no-one comes to Heaven but through me” business?

To not have your answer judged “weasely”, please answer my question without the following attempts to squirm:
[ul]
1 “God was talking about “Jews” For Jesus/“fulfilled” Christians/Kosher Kristians/any other fraud religion.” He was not and it’s besides the point as they ain’t Jews. Plus they’re waaaaay too recent a fraud.

2 “I can’t judge where someone goes”. Keen. I’m asking for your best guess given your understanding of the scriptures. And you were quite happy to suggest that Guin and Esprix were headin’ to the hot place.

3 “I dunno.” Again, if you were so keen to imply that Guin and Esprix were going to Hell, why not me?

4 “You might change your religion, so who knows?” Assume I die right now. Totally without any belief that Jesus is the Way, The Truth or The Light.
[/ul]

So tell me. Where am I (and other Jews) going? And if, in fact, you say that you believe that all Jews do go to Hell, why, exactly are we God’s Chosen People?

Fenris

PS: Guin, wring and Medea’s: Thanks! You all brightened a yukky day! Thanks!!

I’m sorry if I seem spiteful, and I’m not sure what, if anything, I can say. It seems to me that by your standard, most of the people involved in this thread (Esprix, Guin, etc.) are “petty” and are only interested in “belittling” him because, like me, they so often lock horns with him.

Dunno about after death, but after retirement, Palm Beach sounds good.

No, Bill, Saul of Tarsus was a hard case. Mary Magdalene was a hard case. The thief on the cross was a hard case.

You aren’t a hard case. You just need to strive, to learn, and to love.

There you go again: you insult me, and then quickly clean up the mess with the apology-mop so you won’t go to hell. If it made you feel so bad to insult me, why did you do it? Is that your only way to convert people- insult them? Have you ever tried a nicer approach with me?

Let’s summarize the problems here:

  1. You said that I rejected God so I could sin all I want.

  2. You equate evolution with atheism, and assume it played a role in my “rejection” of Christianity. However, in your earlier thread on the topic, you told us that you had learned that evolution doesn’t make people reject God.

  3. You agreed earlier that you shouldn’t criticise evolution without having studied it first- and yet this isn’t the first time since then that you’ve criticised it.

  4. You compare me to the rat guy.

  5. Having given us this display of bigotry, know-nothingism, and insult, you use the apology-mop to clean up the mess so you won’t go to hell for it.
WB, you keep telling us that you’re trying so hard not to sin, but how can we believe it when you don’t put forth the slightest effort? What’s so hard about accepting the fact that evolution doesn’t turn people away from God? You accepted it once, so why throw the truth out the window when it becomes a convenient way to attack someone?

What’s so hard about realizing that regardless of whether evolution is right or wrong, you make Christianity look dumb when you pontificate on subjects you know nothing about? And what’s so hard about taking a deep breath and stepping back to think before you judge people with the same old stereotypes? You think all Muslims hate all non-Muslims; you think atheists reject God so they can sin. What’s so hard about accepting the fact that people are people, and that includes non-Christians?

For your information, I used to be a devout Christian, and I spend a lot of thought, effort, and pain on the subject before I left Christianity. I was an evolutionist ever since I was a small child, and it played no part whatsoever in my leaving Christianity. Do you want to know why I left? Because when I prayed to God, no one was there. I prayed and wished with all my heart to have a personal relationship with Jesus, but praying to God was like talking to a stone, and you can’t have a personal relationship with a stone.

-Ben

I’m ashamed he calls himself a Christian. I’m ashamed he calls himself a conservative. His versions of those two things bear little if any relation to the ideas as I understand them. I would address Chief Head-Up-His-Ass personally, but he is one of only two posters I have ever sent to Coventry, and I’m not about to let him out. Besides, y’all seem to have it covered.

MAEGLIN – Gotcha ya! That still cracks me up.

GUIN – I’m pretty sure “smote” is the past tense of “smite,” as in “smite, smote, smitten.”

*The nitpicker wanders off . . . *

What is “Coventry”??

D’OH!!!

Jesus was a Jew. The Last Supper was a Jewish feast. Why is it that Christians have a hard time accepting Jews when the “God” they worship was a Jew?

Oh, Bill spews out nonsense and is thoroughly ignorant…don’t wanna hijack the thread!
