Quite so. 'Struth, I tend to think his chances are even less, and I have about 200 million reasons for thinking so, and they are all stacked up in a neat pile. Unless I’m very mistaken, a possibility we can dismiss out of hand, people who support Mssr. Kerry (or is it Senor Kerry yet?) do so because we believe him to be a better choice, not because we necessarily believe we will win.
Propaganda works, and they can buy a shit load of it, and Kerry can’t. Even as we speak, the Bushiviks have managed to plant the image of Kerry as a man of shifting and uncertain positions, even though Bush has more flop-flops than a pancake house. (There have been a number of occassions when GeeDubya has remained firm and unshakeable. It’s when he’s wrong, by and large.)
You read Mother Jones? Wow! Which is to say, Cool! Hell, I don’t read [i|Mother Jones*, too Trotskyist. Except for the personals, of course.

Actually, by NYC standards I’m a moderate Dem, which of course to most of the country makes me Jane Fonda’s soulmate.
But I don’t mind paying a fair price for services rendered. And in a year of using PayPal with various and sundry E-Bay folks, it’s never been compromised. I took the plunge.
Of course I read Mother Jones. I’m married to one of you Goddamn pinkos, I don’t really have a choice. Of course, I only read it in the bathroom, that way I’m close enough to the can in case I have to puke.
And I never said that it was a “dreadful turn of events”. I simply stated a fact, to which you and your ilk are loathe for whatever reason to admit to. My suspicion is that you deny it because you want to think that this is how things really are, a shining Utopia in the midst of a dreary conservative sea, and like any Utopia, you get your True Believers who come and join your group, and you get people who think you’re full of crap and leave, thus cementing in your mind the utter righteousness of your cause, reinforced by hundreds of supporters, with only a vocal minority of dissenters.
I guess I should let you have your illusions. It makes you an interesting conversationalist, anyway.

Back to the OP, if I may: It is hard for me, as a liberal, to come up with the money. Like most liberals not in the entertainment industry, I have a low-paying job in the public sector, and when you consider all the money I donate to eco-terrorists, hemp growers, and vegetarian youth groups I don’t have much money left for entertainment. In fact, I was saving up for a Michael Moore VHS tape, and now that’ll take longer than I thought… dern capitalist oppressors and their fees. However, I feel I must stay on and the bourgeois pigs and their ideology of hate and ignorance.
