Happy Father’s Day to all you dads, too.
Hallelujah!!! I’m not sick this morning. Could it be that I’m used to the Victoza? Woo-hoo! I really like how it controls my glucose levels, and my appetite. Had no urge to snack last night before bedtime.

Have a great day, everyone!

Thanks, guys!

So far today we’ve been to a flea market and I’ve gotten my hair cut. Later this afternoon it’s lunch at Cracker Barrel with my family and TVMan. Napping is likely to follow.

Oh yeah, and I thought of** Taters** last night but I was too tired and hungry to stop to take a picture on my way out but one of the food vendors had a large sign that said:

TATER CHIPS

I get to meet the new bebeh today! They should be here in the next few minutes. I got the bebeh afghan all bagged up. BEBEH!!!

**gt **- if it wasn’t for the fact that doing a fly is a royal pain in the patoot, I might consider making another pair. But I swear, if I can help it, I’ll never make pants with a fly ever again!!

We did our WalMart run - all $112 worth. But I have new house slippers now, so there’s that. Plus other stuff we needed like dog food and garbage bags and shampoo.

Excitin’ day, huh?

In which we prove that GT is a geek. Coolest picture ever. (Shared it on facebook, too, so my whole family now knows I’m a geek too. I’m sure they’re in shock. )

It’s taken from the International Space Station, by the way.

I don’t think the pic is geeky, I think it’s cool. It’s beautiful.

That’s one cool pic!

Bebeh is here - she soooooo teensy! About 7# and very squeeeable! And very mellow - she only fusses when she wants to eat, which has been 3 or 4 times so far. I guess she likes to pace herself.

I need to iron tonight. rah. Other than that, today is pretty much shot. Thus endeth my weekend, I guess. At least I’m back to my normal commute tomorrow.

I had kind of a bittersweet moment right just now.

I had purchased a raw hide bone for Polar to gnaw on. It turns out he luuuuuurrrrrves them and had pretty much decimated it by today. We of course plan to go out and get more for him. I figure it keeps him occupied and away from things I don’t want him to chew.

As I was tidying up, I found one of Cappy’s rawhide treats. It was in the shape of a large candy cane and did have flavor stripes running around it. After pretty much licking all the flavor off, Cappy didn’t seem real interested in chewing it, however, we would always carry it around. Always. That and one of his “babies”. It was pretty funny.

Anyway, long story short, I ended up handing said candy cane rawhide to Polar. My husband was sitting there. We both kind of choked up and teared up as we handed it to Polar. He’s making fairly quick work of it right now. It’ll be weird not seeing it laying around. :frowning: But, on the other hand, Polar is enjoying it immensely, so that’s a good thing.

Back from the doin’s in Parrott. Mr. Frank was happy we were there. That’s good cause turthfully given my druthers, I’d have stayed home. Still it was good and the food was good too.

Taht’s about it from swampland.

For weeks, VWife and I have been trying to find the kitten meowing away on the property, to no avail. Finally, dimbulb me realized I was looking waaaaay too low for the source. I watched the same bird for about a week, then looked it up. Yes, a catbird.

In a place where feral cats are as prevalent as crickets, I don’t need any more meowing. I hate catbirds.

ETA: I went on a murderous rampage this afternoon, and wiped out eleventy bazillion (OK, 11) nests of wasps around the VunderLair. And I’m proud of it, cuz I didn’t get stung.

seriously? there’s a bird that sounds like a kitten? how bizarre

eta - I found this artist’s conception . . .

Well, it has been an interesting evening. Daughter and I had some Messican food. Then I came home and ironed some shirts for my sweetie and for me. And I’ve booked a flight for my nephew to come visit for a week after we get back off vacation. Daughter is excited because she likes hanging with her cousin. He’s a 16-y/o wanna-be redneck and generally a nice kid, altho my BIL tends to ride him too hard (IMHO) - anyway, he’ll be here from 16-23 Jun.

Then on the 25th, daughter is going to go work at summer camp for a week - the camp she attended as a kid and the one she worked 2 years ago. This year, she’s an unpaid volunteer - she just wants to do it for fun. And 2 days after she gets back from that, she heads to southwestern VA for a science teaching seminar. And once that’s done, it’ll be time to get ready for school again. Busy, busy.

Whew, I’m tired just thinking about it all!

that’s it!!!

Well, we had a malfunction at the junction and TVMan and I ended up eating lunch without the rest of my family at Pizza Hut. On the bright side, though, nobody takes dad to Pizza Hut for father’s day so there wasn’t a line. :stuck_out_tongue: Family dinner is being rescheduled.

Too bad dinner didn’t work out, Sticky.

Did I wish everyone a Happy Father’s Day earlier? (Well to those of you who are fathers, anyway…)

Went out to garden and mow at 7 and got caught up in the gardening part. Before I knew it it was 9:20 and too late to mow. So I’ll be mowing tomorrow. But I got a bunch of stuff planted next to the neighbor’s house and am almost out of little plants to put in the ground. I’ve got some larger pots that still aren’t done, but those can survive without being planted immediately, even in this heat. I’m hoping to be motivated to get up early tomorrow to get something done (either indoors or outdoors, we’ll see).

Off to sleepy-bye now.

See everyone in the next MMP.

Hugs.

I had Papa John’s for Father’s Day dinner. somebody left me a Father’s Day present on the rug today. Bedtime!

I finally finished a couple of bracelets. I’m definitely keeping one of them for myself!!!

::taps foot impatiently:: It’s been Monday for two hours on the US East Coast - Longer for our friends outside of North America!

Don’t have interwebz at home yet, so apologies to Buns for wishing her a belated Hippo Birthdie.

And Happy Non-Birth Day to everybody else!

My car passed its guvmint inspection on Saturday. I got berated for not having made an appointment; at home nobody gets one, that kind of system works best if either nobody gets an appointment or everybody gets one, and it turns out that here people do get them. They had a slot, tho, so I was able to get the car verified. I’ve got to get a lightbulb fixed, but that’s it. I’m thinking of painting it, too, as it’s sort of scraped all over. And since the painting would need to be full (see, “scraped all over”), I may change its color to something that isn’t the same damn grey as every other car in the company’s huge parking lot. Our offices are in what’s supposed to be a new commercial area, but so far we’re the only ones here yet we occupy the whole parking lot and then some. Why do architects always plan parking space as if everybody rode mopeds?

Can’t see pics. Hope to get intrawebz at home this week. Of the five intrawebz companies:

  1. the cable doesn’t reach my house (damnit),
  2. BigPhoneCompany gave me a price,
  3. FrenchCompany wasn’t picking up the phone,
  4. BritishCompany gave me a price that made me glad I was sitting down, yowza!
  5. SpanishCompany gave me a decent price and offered a discount on the phone line activation if I got the contract right then, but BPC’s price was smaller.

So I call BPC and, lo and behold, turns out they had not given me the full price  Then the guy I was talking with apologized and offered the “TV by phone” service. I explained the reason I had had to call them in order to ask for “line plus ADSL, nothing else” is that their whole webpage and their stores talk about nothing but the trifecta packs and I Do Not Watch Teevee (I’m watching True Blood right now. On DVD); then he offered me an upgrade to faster speeds, but they offer “up to X”, no “X” or “min X”, so offering “up to 6” and “up to 10” doesn’t really make a difference, specially when they’ve already verified and told me that the line itself doesn’t support beyond 6. I know why this company has high satisfaction ratings: anybody who hates them is with somebody else already!

So I called SC again, asked about their rates again, got offered the discount again, took it. The box with the router is supposed to arrive sometime this week, and then I’ll be able to see puppy pics and play WoSW again.

I’m using the inerwebz-less time to do some work on my disertation, but there is a Stoopid Problem in that one of the programs I’m comparing needs interwebs to be activated, so I’m using the other ones. Now I think about it, that’s another point against Ridiculously Expensive Program: you can’t download it from wherever and then install it in a different computer.
