**flytrap **we have beaches in Canada, but a few of them around here are closed because the water level is still very high (in the spring, water levels were so high, many places flooded.)
Plus, we’ve had unusually cold weather for the past little while.
And yes, it can get very hot here in the summer sometimes.

Pepper slept until 7:15. What a good girl! I think it’s because the fog is in and it was dark. I will take it. We went for a nice long walk and she is tuckered out. 
Bleedin’ 'eck the gossip grapevine’s good at my job- today I was asked how my wrist was by 5 different customers and the former chef (mk1)'s Mum, who dropped by for a coffee. It’s fine, if you were wondering 
The new waitress who’s supposed to be replacing me was in today. She’s nice and all, but apart from her not being my type, she does somewhat make me think of this song.
Oh well, I’m counting down the days until the SEP field descends. Not sure quite when my last day’s gonna be (I said I was flexible, because I know it sorta depends on chef mk 3/4/I’ve lost count and the new waitress), but I may only be there as little as one more week. Then househunting begins in earnest!
I saw the vampires, went to the Pubic Sto’, had N.O.L. and have had quality cee-mint pond time. The skank (that’s the nicest word I can think of when it comes to her) at the receptionist desk at the vampire office wanted to give me a hard time about insurance (I have it and it’s just fine thankyewverymuch). I asked her if I really needed to get her boss involved with this yet again as the “problem” was due to her not doin’ her job right, yet again. Suddenly everything got alright! I told her boss anyway because I just don’t like her.

It’s hot outside, but the sun comes and goes.
Other than that, just another grumpy day.
Two and a half hours until my weekend starts.
My work is doing a blood drive next Moanday, and I’m thinking I’ll go get stuck as in addition to the usual t shirt, they are also giving away coupons for a free pint of ice cream, plus a chance to win a free pass to the zoo. All in all it sounds like a good deal for a pint of blood.
Home. No FedEx yet, but the USPS did deliver 2 boxes of gorgeous yarn! Thanks, Sunny!!! I especially like that the color would work for a man or a woman. Usually I get really girly yarn, so it’s nice to have something that I know will be good for a veteran!
Supper will be brisket, crinkle fries, and broccoli, and probably cantaloupe, too. That pretty much sums up my evening.
Back from eatin’ at the not too shabby Chinese [del]hog trough[/del] buffet. I’s stuffded and so is OYKW. It was better than usual tonight. Sonny’s BBQ has a special on their smoked chikin, half a chikin with two sides, bread, and drink included. Tomorrow has been declared Sonny’s for dindin as the special goes off Tuesday. So I will have not cooked for three days in a row. This is fine by me but next week (except for Moanday which is men’s night over to the church house) we need home cooked meals especially since there’s foodstuffs that will need to be used up. I need to thin the freezer and fridge a bit.
So the import mechanic called in, so no repair today. And with my schedule, even if the do fix it tomorrow, it’ll Saturday afternoon before I can get it. So I get to keep driving a truck with no A/C for 2 days, with heat advisories tomorrow. :mad:
We had a brief, intense downpour that dropped the temp about 10F, but the humidity soared to about 234%. UGH
Supper was good. However, FedEx still hasn’t shown up. How late do they deliver? According to the website, my tablet is to be delivered by the end of the day today.

Stayed busy today and should get outta irk early tomorrow. Having a veggie omlet, leftover aigplant and bacon for supper tonight.

I’m having my kids take her to school, with me as backup. They need exposure to the right way to work with a smart dog. Pepper, being a smart dog with too much energy, needs to start now with good foundations.
So, I had the cataract in my right eye taken out on Tuesday afternoon. Got to wear a mini-colander over that eye for a day. On Wednesday the doc said my right eye was doing well but she doesn’t want me to wear a contact in my left eye until she takes the cataract out of that one august first. So now I’ve got one eye that can’t focus any closer than about 10 feet and one that can’t focus any farther away than about 8 inches. Kinda disconcerting. I’m wearing reading glasses to type this. So far it’s been a pretty easy process.

Ended up with only three places to be tonight instead of four. Apocalyptic storms came thru tonight. Bailed on Hoppy Hour & softball game for Run Club. Left my umber-ella inside the front door of our “clubhouse” / brewpub. It wasn’t there when I went to leave. :mad:
It was an old Totes that I had for years & needed to be returned for replacement, but still…:mad: :mad: :mad:
The big seller yesterday, judging by the number of them I scanned today, was something called INSTANT POT. Now before you get all excited and order several bales ----- er, units, let me warn you that its some kind of pressure cooker. Hammocks were another popular item. As for what smaller things were deeply discounted, I can’t say as those where the two common ones still in their OEM boxes.
I think we may have missed Critical Pull Time because of some bad storms and extra volume but I am not sure.
Saturday looks like beautiful weather so I plan on calling in disinterested.
