It was speculated that I possibly won a thread, but there was no confirmation.
My post is #11. Speculation on my win is post #15.

No one has ever declared me the “winner” of a thread.
However, there Ihave been many, many threads I’ve posted in where my post was so obviously brilliant, well written and cogent that no one else saw the need to post anything else to that thread. Ever.
As far as I’m concerned, that counts as winning.
offtopic:
Yes, QtM is now a full fledged doctor, and has been for some time. I believe he is a GP, working in a government run long term housing facility for the otherly moraled. Is that correct, doc?

Just not all the time.

I’m a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and I spent over 16 years in the private sector, where I did routine OB/Gyn, emergency medicine, urgent care, family practice, simple orthopedics, assisting in surgeries, doing infant and child care, cardiac stress testing, peer review, quality improvement, etc. ad nauseum.
I have now spent over 7 years in the public sector in a maximum security prison and now help oversee the medical care provided to over 23,000 inmates across the state, doing a lot of the same things as above (except no real OB) plus other bureaucratic odds and ends and some teaching of medical students.
And I can remove any organ from the body. It’s easier if the body is dead to start with. It will certainly be dead after I’ve removed the organ. Or it will wish it was.
Damn! With a post like that, somebody better get in here quick before Q is declared winner of this thread. We can’t have no fancy doctor man winning this thread. What with him and his sciences and degrees and granny glasses and whatnot.
My favorite thread win was probably this one (I’m post #4):
Yes, yes, no doubt, no doubt. But… well… [nitpick]does the appendix count as an “organ”? There might be times when the removal of an organ could be a good thing?[/nitpick]
Well, I won a thread on another message board, so unfortunately I have no evidence. The gist of it was that a particularly unpleasant denizen of that message board was complaining that we all better be nice to him because for all we knew he could be a serial killer.
I replied, “Aren’t serial killers supposed to be charismatic and intelligent?”
The owner of the site sent me a private message telling me that she laughed her ass off.
I just won this thread. There was, however, some disagreement:-
Maybe I’ll only get a silver medal
I got a gold star from a moderator in this thread.
I also won the discussion about the origin of the expression “Batshit crazy”
Are you kidding? There is no way your post beat this one in that thread. In fact, the linked post is the only one even worthwhile in that thread.
Sorry, but you definately did not win that thread.
I won this thread (I’M BETTER THAN YOU!) with this post
Here’s the post declaring me the winner.
NurseCarmen said I won this thread with this post.
Actually, I’d just as rather never had the whole misunderstanding happen.
I’m… not really sure what I’m gonna do with it, but turns out I won a thread once, too, with this:
If you don’t mind an oldie but goodie, I won not only the thread but the Ultimate Rochambo Fighting Competition too, against some stiff competition.
Admittedly I had to blow the place up to do it but hey, whatever works…
