From one of the questions on the first page–What was Mrs. Arthur Carlson’s first name?
I’m pretty sure it is Carmen.

The Big Guy pretended to be Herb trying to catch a crook. Les pretended to be the Big Guy to help catch the crook. Johnny, afraid of a different crook, pretended to be Andy, and pretended Andy was “Randy Travis.” Andy taunted the Big Guy at the end of the episode and the Big Guy called him Johnny. Different crook pounds Andy.
Andy liked Benny Goodman. The Big Guy liked Crosby, Stills, and Nash.
Q1: Baby, have you ever wondered?
Q2: Wondered whatever became of me?
She was imitating Farfel, a dog puppet and Nestles mascot from 1953-1965.
Baby, if you’ve ever wondered,
Wondered whatever became of me,
I’m living on the air in Cincinnati,
Cincinnati, WKRP.
Got kind of tired packing and unpacking,
Town to town and up and down the dial
Maybe you and me were never meant to be,
But baby think of me once in awhile.
I’m at WKRP in Cincinnaaaaatiiiii…
I just loved this show.
The day I heard this song on my radio, I knew I had made the right choice in getting XM.
I heard that this was a direct slam because Little House was on the air at the same time slot and beating WKRP in ratings.
Yep, it was a helicopter. I remember because it always bugged me they had Les reading the banner being pulled behind the helicopter. It should have been a plane, since it’s basically impossible to pull a banner behind a chopper because of the tail rotor.
could we digress into favorite KRP moments or would that be too much of a hijack?
my all time favorite episode was the one from an earlier question about Bailey and chocolate (by the way - a little Bailey’s Irish Cream in my hot chocolate would be nice right about now but anyway)
Andy had everyone behaving against type so that the “station doctor” would give a negative report back to Mrs Carlson who was thinking about changing the format again.
my favorite bit in that episode was Jennifer acting all ditzy “Okay Mr Breezie”
Sorry, but your response must be in the form of a question.
How about this:
In anyrose’s favorite episode, what did Venus do that was against type to throw the station doctor off-track?
Didn’t the station doctor walk in on Venus holding a knife to Johnny’s throat or something? I remember the look on Johnny’s face, it was priceless.
What was Les’ parting comment when he observed Johnny kicked back in the booth listening to Pink Floyd?
Why was Les convinced Venus would be a good baseball player?
How did Venus convince a gang member not to drop out of school?

What was the name of Venus’s character on the children’s show he had before WKRP?
Not a question, but Venus changed pretty radically from the pilot episode to the next. When he was first introduced he reminded me of a Sweet Daddy Williams/Huggie Bear style 70s stock pimp.
He bet him he could teach him the basics of the workings of an atom.
It occurs to me (if my increasingly poor memory serves) that Johnny used some other on-air identities during the course of the series (I can only think of two). Anyone care to name them ?
“Easy. You’re a Negro.”
He quit WKRP and went out to California briefly. When he came back, his drive time slot was taken and the only open slot was overnight. He called himself “Heavy Early” for that. This was the episode when Carlson put the cocaine on his feet. (John Caravella and Rip Tide have already been mentioned.)
Those are the ones I was thinking of !
I always wondered who the theme was referring to Johnny or Travis?
Now how about Johnny’s PAST on-air names? And how does he remember what name he’s using currently?
YES to Carmen Carlson, by the way.
That station-doctor show was one of the best!
Mother Carlson: Andy, you’ve been a bad, bad boy.
