Women, and where is the best place to look.

Just wanted to know after being out of school and my work being mostly men. Where is the best place to find a date. Bars, internet, church. Where do you go.

What is your best method?

(I know what you mean – my field isn’t exactly a target-rich environment either.)

Honestly – I’ve had good luck over the Net. The AOL personals (or other similar services) can be a good place to meet people. The guidance I’d give would be this – be honest as to who and what you are, and as to what you’re looking for. Also, make sure you screen people well before you give out personal information like your phone number; spend some time emailing and IMing with them first.

But the best advice I can give is - do the things you like. If you like to cook, take a cooking class. If you’re a perpetual student like myself, take classes at the local community college or university. Sign up for a volleyball league, running or biking club. Get involved in volunteer work (chicks DIG sensitive guys :D). If you’re close to a major metropolitan area, there should be singles organizations designed to get you out and meeting people.

Hope this helps.

Try the Tenderloin.

(SF Dopers are laughing right now, possibly)

Krunk’s suggestions were great. I was about to say a number of them when I got on this thread.

But let me add a few others. While single, I came up with the theory that “Passion breeds passion.” Find some place where individuals are passionate about something and you can usually get together for all the wrong reasons.

Any protest for any thing, falls into this category. Church can fall into this category, as can running, cooking, poetry readings, concerts and so forth.

I think it is something like Newton’s theory of motion. You know, “A body in motion, unless acted upon by an outside force…”

Passion is the same way, once passion is aroused…
