Wonder Woman! I swoon!

Wow. There’s a great article on Wonder Woman in the Washington Post. How great does it get when you can mix pop psychology, gay men, anima, the feminine archetype and how they all relate to Wonder Woman in a newspaper article?

Here it is:

And here’s my favorite paragraph:

I think I’m in love…

Ever been to my website? http://www.hastur.com/WonderWoman

It’s considered a comprehensive resource.

Now we’re talkin’, fellas!

Hastur, your website ROCKS!

WW has always been my total heroine. Being a relatively tall (5’9"), dark-haired girl into working out, looking good, and defending the weak, the superbabe Amazon lifestyle has appealed to me since I was a teenager. I forever felt far inferior to the petite blonde things mincing around at my school. I slouched because I hated being tall, and bemoaned being a brunette. My entire culture had me believing that unless I was 5’2", tan, and towheaded, that I was nowheresville as a chick. Then… ABC to the rescue! I loved the TV series in the late 70’s. Watched it every week. I’ve also read the comic book since, of course. Suddenly my Amazonian looks and fightin’ spirit were validated! Just goes to show you what a good dose of the proper popular culture will do for a girl. I was sorry, however, to see that the TV show was no longer set in the 1940’s after the first two seasons (if I remember correctly). I still watch the show as much as I can. It’s usually on when I work out, and how inspiring it is to go to town on the treadmill while Diana whups the bad guys!

It’s funny. I have wanted to go out as WW for Halloween for several years now, and this thread has inspired me to finally go for it this year, freezing my butt off be damned! (As a side note, my sister was more of a Bionic Woman devotee, but sometimes we teamed up to fight neighborhood evil.)

Now, don’t even get me started on Xena…!

Thanks for the compliment.

I just updated the ABC Episode Guide.
