as mostly a lurker with a very low post count i do not imagine it makes much of an impact, but i renewed this evening.

Sorry, that’s just silly. If anybody wanted to make a legal deal about it, their would be a court order involved, and the thread would be turned over to the courts, whether or not it was deleted.
I’m seriously considering starting a “tombstone” thread, in which people who aren’t resubscribing because of the recent unpleasantness can post their last goodbye.
“deleted”, of course, should be “hidden”.
