Snakes won last night in Jacksonville 5-4 in overtime. Two more games to go in the regular season, and we need to win at least one of them to keep first place. Go Snakes!

Any chance of the parents telling your little brother he’s on his own, Hank? Seems like that’s the only thing that would really be effective. On the brighter side, my brother was a lot like yours for a while, but when he got out on his own he improved considerably. And he’s doing quite well at the moment (finished a Masters’ degrees, has held senior management/executive positions in large corporations, has his own company now).

So happy you’re taking care of the video game situation, Spats. (We were worried, of course.)

I always order checks from those places that advertise all over the place. I’ve done it for years and years. Also, I try to write as few checks as humanly possible. Also, find a credit union. Much cheaper overall.

Why am I so awake? It’s past my bedtime and I wanna be sleepy!!

I work in an accounting office. I’m officially part-time, so I’m still looking for something else (after tax season, of course), but I’m effectively full-time right now. At the moment, I mostly do tax returns, but I also do general office work and answer the phones.

Well, I just opened a new bank account and closed my old one. They asked if I wanted checks and I should have said no, since I could order them from somewhere for much cheaper. Unfortunately, I wasn’t braining well that day and just said yes out of reflex. Oh, well. I hardly ever write checks anyway, but it’s too late to cancel the order. I was mostly annoyed because I had to get an account at one of the dinky local banks. I could have gone to the credit union, but see above re: non-braining.

No I didn’t, but I made a new carrotcake last evening just for you guys, this time spiced with brown sugar, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamum, and in a proper sized form, and with a chocolate icing with a twist of lemon.

Nothing much to report from over here, we went to the pub last night for beerverages but they hadn’t really got any! Sometimes you wonder what goes on in the heads of the people who run these places - they get their beer delivery on Thursdays, so last week they ordered lots of extra barrels of Guinness for St Paddy’s Day and skimped a bit on the other guest beers because they didn’t have room in the cellar for extra barrels.

So by Wednesday, they’d run out of every single guest ale except Skinner’s Brewery’s “Figgy’s” (4.5ABV) and Cain’s “Creamy Stout” (4.1ABV), and the ubiquitous John Smith’s creamflow bitter which is an utter abomination and shouldn’t be allowed in decent pubs. So it was a night of Figgy’s which mixes very well with anti-biotics!

Hey there! I GOT THE JOB!!!

It starts in June, which is fine by me–I was hoping to NOT start it right away. (I have enough going on right now).

But I had to reschedule my podiatrist appt-- because my interview(s) ran over.

I dunno 'bout the bionic foot, but it sounds great. I’d just like him to shave down my bone spur, but he said last time that “there were lots of options before we do that one.”

All I know is that I run out of good health insurance in June, so I’ll be going to get checked out LOTS this spring.
My daughter leaves on Friday to go to France. She will be living with a French family–let me put it this way: the teenager in the family looks like he could model for Abercrombie. I think I’ll just tuck some condoms in her suitcase… :eek:
