What the hell, I’ll try it out. Let me know what server and stuff.
Since Thunderhorn was down, I started a Night Elf Hunter (Alliance) on the PVP server called Stormreaver.
Love to have the SDMB guild on that server as well, although I’d probably keep my main on Thunderhorn. But who knows…
Um…I mean to say I’ll keep my main on Thunderhorn, if she’s still fucking there. I just tried to log in to Thunderhorn only to see that apparently I no longer have any characters on it.
That would classify as making me Very. Not. Happy.
Man, I want to give Blizzard the benefit of the doubt, but they are having some serious issues lately. I wouldn’t want to be a CSR for them right now…
Oh, one more thing before I head to the airport.
Although it would classify towards the silly side, I think the Guild name “Gotcha Ya” would be pretty cool.
At least, it would definitely engender some curious looks and questions
That just means that the login server is up, but your game server (Thunderhorn) is down.
Actually, that wasn’t the case, for a period of time characters were “wiped” from some of the servers (in other words, some of the servers that I had characters on didn’t show them, but the realm server was up and running)
I’m only 1,000 miles away from my computer with WoW on it, so I can’t check that this got resolved, but am assuming it did since the threads on this subject that were on the WoW forums are no longer page 1.
Don’t worry, your characters are still there. It was just a problem with displaying the characters properly.
Well, if, ideally, I can build this new system without destroying this, I’ll be on a WoW binge tonight. Bet I can run everything full blast with FSAA and still get 60+ fps. Mmm.
Well Sturmhauke and I will be going to visit my parents from Saturday, Christmas day, through Thursday the 30th. Don’t think we’ll be able to play, but we’ll see. If not, then I’ll miss you all and see you on the 30th. Just the thought of five days with no WoW is inducing a slight panic.
On a happier note, I’m finally getting into the swing of things with my priest character. My new theory is that every character class has a block of about ten levels where they are just underpowered. That was true for my priest from around level 5-15. Once she hit 16, she got some spells that really made it easier to stay alive. Also, I spent a bunch of time on the priest WoW forums (thanks to all of Blizzard’s recent downtime… ) and sifted through all the crap there to pick up some tactical tips for playing priests that have been really helpful.
One such suggestion that I have not yet implemented is that, for a priest, there are so many spells and other actions to juggle that it’s really impossible to be effective without a mod such as Cosmos, which apparently gives you extra hotkey bars. Does anyone else use something like that, and if so, how does it work? What do you think of the different mods available, and would it be difficult for a non-techie-person like me to install? Inquiring minds want to know.
Name wasn’t available
I have a Tauren Druid named Mogarn. Not sure if I like him or not yet.
I’m being tempted to play an undead warlock…
Um guys (and gals) - I’m back. But my characters aren’t. When I log in I default to Stormreaver (where I created a test Alliance PvP character).
I go to change realms, and Thunderhorn doesn’t list any characters?
WTF is going on? Anyone else with this issue?
Nevermind.
btw - did we get anywhere with starting an SDMB guild on a PVP server?
I’ve still got my Alliance guy on Stormreaver.
I plan on doing it soon, next 2 days or so, when I figure out which class and race I want to be.
I think we should go horde - both because it’s a different experience for most of us, and because the alliance tends to outnumber the horde in general and it’d be nice to do our little part to balance things.
Well, the current SDMB guild is Horde
so I think that Alliance would be newer. Just my .02
I’ll join in an alliance guild, just let me know what server. The characters I’m playing now are Horde on Shadow Moon (if anyone’s on that server say hi.)
I have Alliance characters on stormreaver.
Ester is the rogues name.
Elune and Stormreaver are down, I thought of the mention of an SDMB guild for horde characters on Thunderhorn. Can’t seem to decide what to pick. Do y’all need healers or hunters? Obviously I won’t be much help anytime soon, but it makes sense to ask around and see if the guild is short any specific race, class or skills.
I forgot to say level 28 rogue that is not in a guild on Stormreaver.
It’s a small guild, no obvious lack of anything, most played characters are 2 mages (including mine, an undead level 58), 1 warrior, 1 rogue, 1 priest, but there are all types of others as well. I don’t think we have a warlock. But I’d play whatever you feel like playing - same as professions.
It’s small, casual guild, and so it’s not like we have any specific guild-goals that we need to have a certain class or skill. I am by far the highest level, there are a couple of 40s, a couple of 30s and everyone (but me) seems to grow a new alt all the time, so if you’re looking for an end-game guild this probably isn’t it.
But, everyone is really friendly, and always helping each other out, sending items to each other to help with professions, lending money, etc.
To be honest at this point I think there are more non-SDMBer’s than dopers in the guild. In fact, I don’t know who is and who isn’t a doper there.
In case you missed it, guild name is Burning Dog Legion. My char name is Norolis.
Funny, I started a NE hunter on Stormreaver a long time ago, never went back to him (he’s only like lvl 8), but was thinking about it. What’s Stormreaver like?
Well, I started up a troll shaman the other day, on the Thunderhorn server, named “Cyanaura”. Who should I talk to about getting in?
